If you've never played this, do take a look. You need not have any familiarity with Phoenix Wright or any other game in the series, and if you do, you'll be surprised by how many steps forward this takes compared to even the latest game, and how novel the setting is for the franchise.

Spending time with these characters was a delight, and it was a bummer having to see them off. It's a lovable cast from top to bottom, and the way their relationships changed with each other and how they grew as people was backed by some really solid writing.

At first I wasn't big on the name change to Herlock Sholmes, but it makes the “we have Sherlock at home” vibe even funnier. He's delightfully eccentric and illogical. A real goofball that had us laughing out butts off every time.

The way Sherlock Holmes and his novels are integrated into the narrative is quite clever, playing with your expectations if you're familiar with these works.

I also loved with the setting. Taking place in the turn of the XIX century and removing all supernatural elements made this surprisingly refreshing, with a more grounded cast than usual.

It all feels more involved and less formulaic than Phoenix's antics. In fact, I was surprised to find an investigation-only case, which never happens outside AAI. Moreover, while we have an established recurring cast as usual, not every single character appears in every single case.

Pitting jurors against each other and dealing with multiple witnesses on stand who may not see eye to eye is really entertaining, and that's just the trials. Investigating is also really good, thanks in part to the new deduction/correction mechanics.

I was impressed at how intricate and varied the mechanics are compared to the main games, (including Spirit of Justice, which came after it), and even the presentation is more dynamic here! The jury system alone is a real breath of fresh air, and I'd love to see it return in future installments.

Astro is the most adorable character ever made and I will not hear otherwise.

Also he looks fine IMO. I have no problems with anything about Delta so far. It all looks great.

The worst part is getting slapped with the same ad on YouTube before every single video. If I had a dollar every time that happened, I would indeed feel like a billionaire.

I have a very vivid memory of the first time I played the final case, and going back to it was a mind trip. I'm actually surprised by how much of it I still remembered. A lot of the finer details were gone from memory, but not the major beats. That speaks for how much it impacted me back then.

I know it's not gonna happen, but let me have this.

Luigi's is just an ALT text.

It moves when you blow on it, so I think the label is accurate.

By they way, my #1 piece of advice about ALT text is to listen to people with visual impairments! Not random online people. I have seen a ton of well intentioned but terrible advice from sighted people about ALT text. Here is a clear guide: www.perkins.org/resource/how...

Your sprites look better every time I see them! It's really fun to look at all of these. I'm so happy you included Bia there, who looks adorable with those chibi proportions.

Nice, thanks for the heads-up! I wonder how well the Panzer Dragoon games run on it. Either way, it's looking promising.

I see a bit of influence making it's way to Wonder as well. The jelly areas come to mind, for example. Jump physics be jank, but you get accustomed to them. It's only in the final level that this becomes a problem, where the game suddenly cranks up the difficulty and foregoes checkpoints.

The enemies and levels are quite similar to what you'd expect from Wario (which makes sense). If Wario Land 1 feels like a Mario game starring Wario, Mario Land 2 feels like the opposite. They are both transitional titles, in a sense.
