My husband made this, and it genuinely made me laugh from the first panel~

I feel like fully half of the art I see on here is of lithe, ruddy-cheeked pseudo-vampiric couples about to kiss. There seems to be an endless appetite for it too. Did I miss a bulletin that went out saying that’s what we’re all supposed to draw now? I feel old.

Some panels I finished inking earlier today. Martin's antlers are the hardest part of his design to draw consistently and correctly; that first panel is about as good as they get!

"Sequential Art, or, Comics are simply sequences of images that tell a story, evoke a feeling, etc... Meanwhile: 'Manga' loosely translates to 'Whimsical Pictures'."

I also did a video of the completed pencils (and partially completed inks) of ch. 3! Workin' hard!!

Got chapter 2 of "Vampire Hunter Alone" completely penciled. Penciling this, along with Ch. 3 and doing paperwork at my job, is starting to give me carpal tunnel (ouch!) so please do take a look and, more importantly, tell your friends about how hard I'm working on this!!

"What is the fourth dimension?"

Thanks bud! WebToon, as a platform, is full to the brim with work that I find a bit lacking (arguably, less the fault of the creators and more of a pace-of-work issue) so I decided to make exactly the kind of thing I'd like to see on there. Please do give it a read and tell me your thoughts!

At A2CAF today and I took this really great picture of @scottmccloud.bsky.social

"Pet CPR Step Two: begin devouring your pet."

Got the last page I needed penciled done just now. Meaning Ch. 2 and 3 are totally penciled (100+ pages of pencils). That was... a lot of work.

How Comics Are Made is out TODAY in bookstores! Tracing the steps and telling the stories between a cartoonist’s pen and the newsprint page, my book travels across over 130 years of artistic and technological development. howcomicsaremade.com#preorder

Happy Pride!

Finished watching "Le Chevalier D'Eon" yesterday. I bought the first half of the series during its initial release in 2007 and then had to go to college (and, therefore, my anime collection ended up with a bunch of holes). It's an *excellent* series, and I've never met anyone who's seen it!

"Ya know, all I ever wanted was to do one undeniably decent thing with my life. Just one. Ain't that somethin'?"

About 9 years ago (I remember that Obama was still president) Kurt Busiek & I did a rough mapping of a 3rd arc of Autumnlands. We brainstormed all kinds of cool stuff & we even completed 2 issues. They were in a flat file for most of the last decade. That’s long enough to sit on work so I’m sharing:

cartoonist pep talk

Pumped, stoked... ...jazzed!

Got this finished and in the mail a few days back, and then I just didn't really think about posting it until this moment. I used to post everything I drew as quickly as possible, but these days, it's just not really a priority. I've got 4 pages left to pencil on VHA ch. 2, that's been a priority.

Got the realistic one inked (it's my mom's Yorkie).

For "some reason," I was feeling a reread of this one, and, hey, it's still great!

There are multiple ways to draw dogs. Here are two of those ways.

Everyday people.

In this scene, Martin gets yelled at by a big dog.

Everybody.

A college friend of mine just dropped this incredible 6.5 minute animation that he's been working on for a long time now. If the more unusual animation in things like "FLCL" was pushed EVEN FARTHER, you'd have "Grandpa 2.0". Please watch, Gabe's work is incredible!!! youtu.be/_npThSgki1c?...
