I would switch to running my own server. Contabo has them for $70 per year. Each server holds 400GB data and has 33TB / month outbound traffic. Plenty for a small following of a couple thousand visitors a month streaming videos periodically. You could use Hugo to produce your blog

I would hardly call it a strategic defeat for Russia. Their attention was focused elsewhere. Propping up the Syrian government was becoming increasingly troublesome, and the fact that the rebels are in the embassy in Russia says that they are open to negotiation.
