Good luck fighting of The Scourge.

This is a good interview. While something's clearly happening to Canadian public opinion, the devil is in the details as to whether a critical mass of change has occurred--enough to fundamentally alter Canadian decision making on its leadership. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WU8k...

Broadly based loss of voter support for any party except Liberals. angusreid.org/canadian-ele...

The NDP losses are the biggest share of a very broadly based shift. Since the Jan. 27 polling, NDP is down 6%, Conservatives are down 5%, all other minor parties are down 12%. So, your statement catches the biggest single-party shift but only one-quarter of the total shift.

Distressing. I could speculate on what it means or could mean, but I won't. Minimally, it is a needless security risk, it suppresses free conversation, and it untowardly seeks to establish "me" and "all you you" as being different, that Hegseth is special and the others lack that character.

Yes. Canada's civil defense corps needs some robustness. Russia sure got a rude awakening from Ukraine. Your populations are about the same. On the down side, you have much more territory to defend. On the upside you have exquisite natural physiography for defense.

Europe and Canada and the free world need their own GPS and Starlink type networks. Europe has the Galileo network.

My opinion matters not one whit; not like the U.S. is Canada's 11th province or ever will be (California on the other hand... ... ...). But still, I have an opinion. I hope Liberals win so resoundingly that it's the shot heard 'round the world, especially in Washington, DC. O'Canada, Best wishes!

Any possibility that any provincial governments in Conservative hands might go to the Liberals?

Calgary Centre... you mean like the equivalent of a U.S. city mayor?

Reduced tourism and optional business travel from Canada to the U.S. will bite and will raise pressure on T to lift the damaging tariffs. Pressure must be intense to be effective. 70% reduction... that's intense. It is not just Canada. But Europe and Mexico must be scaling back travel to the U.S.

Dangerous! Like when the U.S. allowed public education dollars to be spent on private schools instead. Proper education took a nose-dive, and bogus extremist right-wing indoctrination took off. In the case of the medical industry there are motives to get the surgery done right--but for the wealthy.

I successfully subscribed. I suspect they were too overloaded with subscription orders related to the reporting today on new revelations of the top secret military actions that were conducted insecurely and also leaked to the editor of The Atlantic.

Wow. A couple weeks ago I was asking whether Conservatives were rethinking, and this 338 polling you posted is the clear answer. I read that the NDP is social democratic. So if the Liberals take NDP voters, that further cements the Liberals' standing. Thanks for keeping us informed.

Possibility that the Liberals could win an outright majority. Also a possibility that Conservatives could win. Better to be ahead with a wide uncertainty than behind with a wide uncertainty. Maybe a whole lot of Canadians will be thanking Trump for putting Liberals securely in power (twisted joke).

I don't know how much of this is a response to events to your south--whether it was already in the works or is a response to U.S. events--but this is exactly the kind of response that's needed by Canada. Best wishes to you and to all of Canada.

I have the same feeling about the SAAB offer to build fighter jets in Canada as I had about Sweden and Finland giving up neutrality and joining NATO (when NATO was still NATO). Profound relief and deep sadness. Sadness because of where the world is. Relief because Sweden and Canada are standing up.

Great thought, and I hope it happens. However, Canada already has global status. Canada is a country to emulate, worldwide. But yes, improved power to resist is crucial.

I like the romanticism. But I am afraid it was more like getting knocked up then coerced into something that Charon just had to live with. Okay, that's too depressing. So yes, a dance and a kiss, but they were also into some serious hard-core kink.
