If the Supreme Court decides that the government can "erroneously" disappear you off the street to a foreign torture prison, and that federal courts have no power to do anything about it, that is, in a meaningful way, Pretty Much It www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/24...

If you abduct someone and send them involuntarily and without recourse to a country where they've never lived to be imprisoned, that isn't deportation, it's human trafficking

There’s no such thing as A.I “art.” It’s a soulless amalgamation of plagiarised data. That is the antithesis of art.

Anyone who thinks Pete Hegseth will resign doesn't understand TrumpWorld. They have no shame. They have no introspection. They have no respect for consequences.

The Gaza Strip right now is as if the Nazis had 21st-century weaponry and bombed the shit out of the Warsaw ghetto. The remaining people are concentrated in squalid conditions, homeless, then blown apart in their tents. Jets and drones render extermination camps extraneous.

What do you call humans being kidnapped and sent to another country to be imprisoned in shackles and forced to perform intense physical labor while living in horrid conditions under the threat of daily physical violence and rape? Open a history book. You can do it. I believe in you.

this guy is such an arrogant little prick. he’s done nothing in his life but suck up to a progression of would-be daddies but he struts around like his shit doesn’t stink.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

The New York Times is so blatantly in the tank for Trump. Calling Canada and Mexico "recalcitrant" is just beyond the pale. It's straight up propaganda.

I think Americans, blessed with relatively stable government for a long time, assume there is someone, some adult, who will step in and make things right before the President does anything REALLY bad. There’s not.

The word for this is "coup."

Trump comes at you real fast

➡️ January 20: FAA director fired ➡️ January 21: Air Traffic Controller hiring frozen ➡️ January 22: Aviation Safety Advisory Committee disbanded ➡️ January 28: Buyout/retirement demand sent to existing employees ➡️ January 29: First American mid-air collision in 16 years Making America Great Again!

So many of Trump's executive orders are just straightforwardly illegal. Not gray area, "it's debatable" type stuff — contradiction of black letter statutory and constitutional text

Recently took a peek at Twitter and the disinformation is getting substantially more dangerous. Someone could get killed. The tactics of constantly repeating outright lies, targeting specific people, repurposing years-old footage and presenting them as new is getting to another level. It’s scary.

These two numbers tell you everything you need to know about our legal system: $40 million (amount paid to victims of an opioid company); $119 million (amount paid to Skadden, the corporate law firm that made sure the victims got no more). An outrageous saga: www.propublica.org/article/endo...

"Twitter isn’t real life" turned into "leaving Twitter is ignoring reality” very quickly!

Obama's '08 campaign won the biggest margin of victory in the last 30+ years. Within hours of his inauguration, Republicans went to dinner and agreed to oppose him on every single item. Two years later, they won 63 House seats and 6 Senate seats.

This is how you know you're wrong

J.K. Rowling attacks another POC cis female athlete with anti-trans hate. She's as racist as she is transphobic. www.out.com/gay-athletes...

“If you look at the history of the segregation movement, they wanted vouchers to prop up segregation academies,” a professor who studies school segregation says. “And now they’re getting vouchers in some of these areas to prop up these schools.”

NEW: From 2018 through 2022, Palatine, Illinois, police ticketed students nearly 400 times. Black and Latino students sometimes received tickets when white students were given lesser punishments or offered help to cope with substance use, the probe found.
