Hey Mike, just wanted to say I have listened a long time but was hesitant to dive into the Mars stuff. Started listening since yesterday and it’s phenomenal!
I hope others are giving it a try that haven’t.

She gets it. Everyone is so tone deaf in the media and in politics.
It’s not the shooters abs. It’s not society desensitized to violence. It’s not video games, anarchist, lack of morals etc
It’s the feeling that the vast majority of American lives are treated as expendable in the name of profit.

Just as long as there are zero bailouts for crypto or people that invest in it.

A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes. It’s still true but the lies are just a lot faster now.

I’m pretty sure the millions spent on disinformation has contributed to that disconnect.
Anytime a single payer system is discussed people are barraged by stories of death panels and people waiting for surgery for 83 years in Canada.

You know, just a sexual assault here and showing up to work drunk there, just typical behavior in your 30’s.

The horror! The politicization of court appointments!
Someone get Mitch a mint julep and a kerchief to dab the sweat from his brow.

Historically, caring what people like Nate Silver thinks is why the Democratic party has gotten streamrolled in politics.

It’s gotten so bad the Nazis and trolls are calling for civility while the bots are complaining that no actual human accounts exist.

Hunter Biden was a means of getting at Joe Biden by the right. From penis pics on the Congressional floor to the sketchy way that the laptop “fell” into the hands of rightwing operatives.
He was never elected, never served in any capacity in the government, but was being targeted like he had.

Trump won by one of the lowest margins in the last 100 years. Of the 4 he had a larger margin higher than, one was his negative margin in 2016 and Bush’s negative margin in 2000.
They really do have their own version of reality.

While Trump gets political boosts for things he says that he’ll never do. Still waiting on any action on his first term “promise” of letting Medicare negotiate drug prices.

Nickel, dime, quarter, whatever to get access to an article. Make it like audible, where a sub gets you X number of tokens a month or just allow me to load money on my account.
I want to read an article from the economist, a blog post from someone interesting, and a NYT article. I want ala carte

You either die a hero, or live long enough to become the bootlicker.
I think Sun Tzu wrote that.

I’m sure whatever her name is that’s obsessed with the first trans member of congress is going to be all over this…right?

What is “de-escalation”. A blank check for Putin to do anything he wants? Prior to his invasions over the last decade or so Germany and other European nations attempted de-escalation. Bush and Obama de-escalated.
De-escalation from just one side is appeasement.

So on threats to humanity, a trans woman using a toilet in a stall next to another woman in a stall is above or below nuclear war, famine, disease, or mass extinctions?

No one wants WW3 or a nuclear war, but there’s only so far you can let a dictator use the threat of nukes while he gobbles up territory.
Do you think Putin stops with forcing 33 million people under his rule or do you think he forces another crises with threats of nukes?

Well, somehow they can convince people the problem isn’t the leopard. I’m not sure how to fix that. “What’s the Matter with Kansas” pointed out this problem decades ago but still no answer.

Pretty much. I’m hearing how Trump is going to ram through and do whatever he wants. Where’s this kind of political power when Dems are in charge? Usually a lot of excuses why they need super majorities to do anything.

It’s ridiculous that a party in charge of the House is going to use that power to bully one person.

Maybe people are just tired of social media barraging them with trolls, racists, incels, and fake information. Banning someone that fits all those categories sounds ok to me
