The compression on bsky makes the video so much worse. I assumed that it's better underneath, watch the steam video and wow, amazing visuals <3

While I highly encourage any aspring gamedev to start with as simple project as possible, I can't deny that me starting with 3D MMORPG back in the day was actually the call that put me on the way to get where I am in my life right now, and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Well I guess the proper title would be oldest 3D game that I've finished. I have made some 2D games in variants of Basic, C++ and couple in Klik & Play in the 90s, but none of them have any screenshots of them, as that was before my life on the internet took off.

I have to say, while the "ADHD bees" does convey the feel I have, I feel slightly sad, as this makes the lovely tiny creatures into some evil entity. So to balance this out, here's a picture of my daughter saving a bee that she found drowning in a swimming pool by giving the bee some sugary water.

I would write a very very very small game indeed on the first day and spend the rest of the month trying to get my shit together and release it.

hah, I saw the dwarf in a tiny zoomed out image on bsky but the silhouette/colour scheme is so memorable that I instantly noticed it and shouted 'Golden Axe' before reading the post :D

honestly just hit it till it falls, preferably use roar attack as much as possible. the bosses were one of the things that I wanted to do a polish pass on, but never got the chance, and they ended up as damage sponges :/

amazing, great to see a fellow kaiju enthusiast :)))) I'll definitely take a look at your game!

sweet! followed back! yeah, at first i'm making a small mobile kaiju game to get better grasp of Godot (as I moved from Unity), and after that a bigger title, spiritual successor to Roarr.

Thanks! One of my biggest gripes is not being able to update that game and make it better. (hence what I have written in my bio ;) )

yeah :) I don't get to update that old project, or make a direct sequel, as I don't own the IP, but I can at least try to make a better game on my own, without a publisher.

Oh it's my favourite, I usually do it with full egg/pork belly/green onion and other garnishes setup, so it basically feels almost like a proper restaurant ramen.

Honestly I went through the official tutorials and they're just not that great. However, the Brackeys videos are surprisingly good start. After watching www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOhf... and www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1zJ... I played a bit with the project and felt comfortable with starting my own.
