Not that I didn't accomplish anything with Ekaiyo, the 3D Pokemon MMORPG. While we obviously never finished it, I met couple of my best friends on this project. Since I didn't have any formal education, I used my code from it to get a job in the biz. Also it was a lot of fun. #gamedev #indiedev

So yesterday I went down the archive.org rabbithole, trying to recover screenshots from my oldest projects, and found this 3D arkanoid from ~2002. While it was the oldest game I finished, I did already start a 3D Pokemon MMORPG by then. As you can imagine, that one never got finished ;) #gamedev

The game was actually really fun, my first one I consider 'proper'. The movement was fluid and enjoyable (though some players felt it bit too slippery). It never was supposed to be about squares, but squash-and-stretch made it feel so fun I left temp art in. #indiedev #gamedev #ldjam #ludumdare

Zniw is the character I've been drawing since the 90s. She is a dinosaur living in the Late Cretaceous Laramidia. As a teen, I drew several volumes of comic books with her & her pal Zid. Years later I turned that passion into video games: now I am working on the sequel. How cool is that? #oc #art

Last couple days, after looong time of bugfixing a piece of legacy code, I was given green light to add a new feature. Oh man it feels so good. I put all the bells and whistles in, and I've got ideas for many more. And my baby is already out there in the wild, with the designer ready to use it!

Sometimes I forget how it is to feel no ADHD bees buzzing in my head for couple days/weeks, and I feel the pull of depression increasing and executive dysfunction kicking in. And then I take my medicine and oh god I can think properly again, it was the damn bees.

If you spend a lot of time sick in bed, make sure you've got your favourite bedsheets ready.

Couple weeks of being down with the plague and recovering, time to get back to making games, starting this January I'll make so much stuff! Wait, what do you mean it's 27th already.

My life be like: During the day work in Unreal, and after hours port my Unity project to Godot After 15 years of nearly exclusively using Unity (outside of sideprojects in PICO-8 and the like) It's weird switching context constantly like that, but it definitely ain't boring and keeps me on my toes

It's time to have some kaiju T-rexes destroy the world! After last year's training on smaller Godot projects I am hopefully ready to port my never released practically finished mobile game from #unity to #godot, with some tweaks and updates. Deadline for first playable: end of May Let's go!

Ok, so I really enjoy hand shading with Crocotile's Vertex color tool. While this lighting/shadow that I've done is mostly nonsensical (where is the sun? xD), it does add nice depth to the otherwise very flat image. I shall definitely be exploring this utility when I am working on proper projects.

Day 2 of working in Crocotile is fun. While I have no concrete direction I want to go in, I've started experimenting with bit more complex shapes. I'm beginning to enjoy the tile-laying mechanic. I should probably experiment a bit with freeform modelling as well. #gamedev #indiedev

After trying out Blockbench I have decided to give #Crocotile a spin. While the workflow is a bit odd, I can see what brings people to use this tool. After throwing together a very simple tilemap I could get modelling relatively fast. I think I'll experiment with it a bit more.

In Poland it's traditional to have 12 dishes for xmas dinner. I am ready.

I really, REALLY want to like #blockbench, as I like its voxel-like approach to modelling, but whenever I use it to texture, some wonkyness in the pixel grid appears, and I have absolutely no idea why. I'm obviously doing something wrong but I just can't figure out what.

Wow, another birthday! This year was better for me mentally than last half a decade. I managed to overcome many of my fears and obstacles and take steps forwards. Life goal for the next year: become a Dilphosaur from Jurassic Park. Possibly also develop ability to spit venom at people who annoy me.

So for my game I want a chibi cross between battletech and gundam mechs I wish I continued to draw stuff after childhood, and not miss the years of experience I could have otherwise had. Well, the best time to learn to draw was yesterday, second best is today Time for some ugly ass robot designs!

Did I also do it because yesterday's harasser could've been a bot that searched my old bluesky handle on discord and discovered me that way? Possibly.

Decided to change my bsky handle to my old twitter handle (imakecoolstuff). The one I had here before, while the same as my name in many chats/games, just didn't feel right when I was looking at my posts. Welcome back to the new me, same as the old me I guess.

Last week ended up having less hours in it than predicted. Turns out time isn't made out of rubber and you can't stretch it indefinitely. On one hand this means that I didn't finish my 7DFPS game, but on the other: I'm not limited by deadline any more and can have bit more fun with it. Let's go!

Me, in the afternoon: Imma play some quick Armored Core 6 to gather some references for my 7DFPS jam game. Also me, now: ok, how come it's midnight already. Damn you, Armored Core! Why are you so addictive!
