There is no way Trump graduated from Wharton honestly without knowing how tariffs work. If daddy didn’t bribe/threaten professors, his idiot son would have flunked out his first year. Imagine him taking an Econ 101 exam today.

Imagine having popular party leaders that could attract these crowds? Hakeem and Chuck could not dream of it. I rather watch paint dry than hear the empty rhetoric and excuses of those donor-controlled robots.

Thank you! It is a confusing situation but I guess I am trying to project sanity and business sense on those two psychos.

Show up to work like Trump? Fantastic! I will go golfing half the day, chat on the phone with friends, scroll social media, and insist my coworkers type up 1-pagers with bulleted text and pictures.

I am a bit surprised our co-Presidents have rival social media apps and this hasn’t come to a head yet. Am I missing something? I know little about the Truth Social cesspool so maybe their user bases and use cases don’t overlap as much as I think.

Chuck is going to get carpal tunnel after all the strongly-worded letters he is going to type this year.

Thank you for speaking out about this so clearly for those of us not in academia/research. We already have a flawed funding/economic model in higher ed that leads to loss of tenured prof positions. I imagine this will exacerbate. Condolences to all on PhD track right now hoping to become a prof.

We need to fund and consume independent digital media more than ever. I am far left and urge my center left friends to do the same, even if Jacobin or The Lever is not their cup of tea. Just stop with subscriptions to NYT, WaPo, CNN, etc.

Digital independent media is doing this. Antiquated newspaper and cable news corporations appeal to a dwindling and aging base. Our priority should be to get our more moderate aunts and grandpas to switch news sources. Pressuring legacy media will not be effective.

My Dem Senator is sadly John Fetterman so there really is no point calling his office for anything. I learned this the hard way in the past year.

Gerry Connolly, Dick Durbin, Richard Neal…Congressional Dems are overflowing with young and inspiring bench talent.

Agreed. I am tired of giving all these people benefits of the doubt. They are sociopaths. No media publication or politician will convince me that is not the sieg heil. Just like “stand by and stand back”. No sane-washing these monsters.

That we allow bribes to fund propagandistic “inaugural ceremonies” is an almost humorous encapsulation of America at this point. How much more debased does this system have to get before it collapses under its own absurdity? Soon? Never? Any historians care to ponder a guess?

Capitalism is a monstrosity that cannot be reformed. We must, through labor movement politics, push for a system where workers and society own the means of production. No more plutocracy.

As if it weren’t already apparent, the past few weeks of capitulation hopefully show “reform capitalism” liberals that you cannot reform this. We need an economic system owned by workers and society, not plutocrats.

Reading views like these make me feel a lighter burden from my biggest life regret of not becoming an academic. I am struggling mentally in a corporate career, despite its financial upsides and its crucial role supporting my family. But I daydream of being an astrophysicist or sociologist.

So we fill diplomat roles with outrageously unqualified political donors and delegate “diplomacy” to warhawk NSC officials. What can go wrong? It is sad but I don’t know who would want to train to be a US diplomat today. It has become a joke of a role.

Even though I guess we should feel good about being vindicated and adding former adversaries to our side on certain issues, it is still nauseating to consider what a tremendous waste the last decade has been. The consequences of the rigged 2016 primary will reverberate for decades.

I love when you share tidbits from Steve’s show. He gullibility and brain-rot is fascinating. Out of all the right wingers you highlight, he is the one I would like to have a conversation with, for my own curiosity. What is the craziest thing I could get him to believe?

So much of Riot Act resonates so profoundly today almost a quarter century later.

The interests of capital owners and their workers are *inherently* at odds and we are navigating an economic system with inherent contradictions at the very core of its design. The result is a brutal, volatile, and nonsensical economy buoyed by unsustainable consumer debt levels.

I want to apologize to the rest of the country for being duped into volunteering, donating, and voting for the next Sinema. I regret it every day. I consciously overlooked his low intelligence thinking he was left of the median Dem senator.

We are more likely to see ecofascism…wars over water and farmland, brutal crackdowns over climate-induced migration, etc.

I haven’t seen anything regarding additional shows but hopefully more will be announced soon. I feel like new era will kick off in proper in coming weeks.
