If the Dems ever do make it back into power then they need to take massive action against El Salvador for helping Republicans break the constitution.

A+ work to certain of the New York City media outlets that participated in the multi-year subway crime panic that led us to this moment.

Bring back Kilmar Abrego García... NOW. 🧵(1 of 6)

fucking Hard Labour. Good Christ.

I see we are now inching gently towards “nobody likes this government because it repels everyone except for crank Tory pensioners who will never vote for them because they’re Labour”. Could we just skip the preparatory foreplay ahead of the council elections, this time?

Labour has basically become the Terminator Franchise, a constant mess of sequels, all of which are much the same, all of which act like each of the other sequels didn't happen.

the problem with a lot of centre left parties is they're just not really willing to understand that a lot of voters simply don't want to vote for them.

look if you want a realistic understanding of how healthy cocaine is for your heart you have to interview a lot of cartel leadership, otherwise you're just not armed with the information you need to make that judgement

you'll never be rid of him

just, so many people, for so many reasons, look at fascism and say, no, "how can I fight this," but "how can I take advantage of this to advance my own agenda."

yeah, a big problem for Ds has been an unwillingness and or an inability to get on the same page in terms of strategy or resistance. 1

This is really excellent 👇

I think the voter suppression thing the Republicans are doing is very likely to backfire on them. Because Democratic voters (who are highly engaged) are going to be the ones who are much more willing to prove their citizenship than Republicans.

the problem with the idea of a vibecession is that it's kind of melting some democrats brains. If you think that there was real economic problems at the end of the Biden administration then what happens last election and since mostly makes sense. If you don't though, then you're left all at sea.

I see we've reached the "don't worry, the Finance Minister is a Western-educated former fund manager" stage of the emerging market crisis playbook. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Bad AAPL

apparently not having a social safety net doesn't actually buy all that much.

I really do think the origin point here was many liberals cheering on the pressure campaign directed at these schools. When you expose your belly to the right they will keep clawing until they hit bone

This is amusing and true, but it was ever thus. All eras are driven by nostalgia, usually at 30 years distance. Thus in the 1930s it was about the Edwardian zenith of the 1900s. In the 1970s, it was about the promise of the 40s. In the 1990s it was about the freedom of the 60s.

Honestly a great article to be written on media lingo and outlook that's somehow stuck in 1991: a land of bobbies and boffins, where 'flat screen TVs' are a luxury and vegetarianism is a niche hippy thing

as someone said on the other site, you can tell a lot from the tone of the press releases. if they say "pro terrorist hate speech" the celebrity has said something mildly supportive of human rights in Gaza, if it's "inappropriate remarks" the celebrity has said something wildly antisemitic.

they're just gonna keep dancing on the edge of the cliff till they fall off.

BREAKING: White House sources report an old Ork Codex was slipped into the President's Daily Briefing and he is now exploring the possibility of ending the dollar entirely in favor of a teeth based economy

I just cried in my office after having another student in here talk about precautions they're taking about their status. I have received calls all week from people who need their names removed off publications or letters I was part of organizing. I feel sick and helpless and so so angry.
