Congratulations to everyone at the Bulwark!

Traitors, all of them including the “leaders” covering for and cowering from Trump.
comment in response to post
I believe the hope is showing how remorseless the villains are and the good guys are now at more risk due to these traitors being set free.

I know they hate DEI, but why? What the heck is there to be against with DEI? I mean the one they’ll say out loud.

I wish that was the case but SCOTUS already ruled that section 3 is not “self executing” and there would need to be legislation passed first. It seems pretty clear to me, but whatever SCOTUS decides becomes law. www.lawfaremedia.org/article/what...

Did Elon not know anything about MAGA before supporting Trump? Their whole shtick is hating on immigrants. These are the people they want deported!

The thought that there are people out there that would do unthinkable evil if it wasn’t for the fear of eternal suffering after death scares the hell out of me sometimes.

I agree it’s dumb, but it’s how I’ve been buying bulbs for all my life so it’s what I know. I don’t know how many lumens I need. 🤣
comment in response to post
This is it. "F y'all. I bought this presidency fair and square."

I’d like to say they have no chance of getting that bs to stick, but the fact that they’re charging him with terrorism shows just how far they’re willing to go for the ultra wealthy. It’s a symptom of the larger problem and will only make others feel justified in their anger at the system. Good job!

Considering who won the election, I think it's a valid assumption that most people aren't paying attention anywhere near the level they need to be.

It’s YOU! I saw you use the vents!

It's satire.... right?

Many voted for Trump because they WANT to see that system broken. He understands people are angry and uses that anger to get votes, but his solutions will only make it worse for them.
comment in response to post
I agree that the amount of voter participation is a huge issue, but it's not the only issue. There's a chicken/egg problem where people don't feel it's worth participating in a system that's rigged against them, but that's exactly what keeps it rigged against them.

Voters only get to choose between what they feel is the least bad option. Contributions being necessary to compete as a politician means you can't speak out against major issues we face since it could affect your campaign. This conflict results in them working for the corps, not the people.
comment in response to post
Going further, it's not JUST Rs. The gov is supposed to work FOR the people, but both parties take money from corporations to make laws and regs that benefit them. The current system is broken. Most people don't know HOW it's broken but it's undeniable that it is broken and isn't working for them.
comment in response to post
This applies to most industries though. Rs not only protect big corps instead of workers and consumers but also create and pass laws that make it harder and more expensive to get healthcare. We live in a country where people beg for others NOT to call an ambulance because they can't afford it.

I don’t agree with people calling him a hero or saying the victim deserved it, but the fact that there are so many people that support him shows that there are a lot of people angry with what has become the status quo. Trump used this same anger to win an election by pointing it elsewhere.

I’ve been a member since Trump took office in 2017 and saw how they stepped in to help those who needed it. They were the first ones I thought of when that anti-nonprofit bill came through the House. Hopefully that doesn’t make it through the Senate.

Wow, someone needs attention any way they can get it.

I just got finished watching your latest video with BTC. Thank you for all you do!

I’m wish I could believe this. I’m sure they’ll shift the blame and they’ll believe whatever bs excuse Trump tells them because MAGA!
comment in response to post
Oh great. I guess the US will be getting this soon just in time for Trump to pretend it doesn’t exist.
comment in response to post
Haha. No worries. I didn’t think to put it in quotes, but I can see how you’d take that wrong at first.

Rejecting reality is a part of their platform. They’ve been conned and most will support him regardless of what he does to the country. They called Project 2025 a hoax and there’s probably a lot of them that still believe that. I keep wondering how bad it needs to get for them to wake up.
comment in response to post
That MAGA block list I used after joining must be working really well. I haven’t seen any of this bs. Bravo to the folks keeping that thing so up to date.
comment in response to post
Surprised this wasn’t the first response.
comment in response to post
Don’t take it personally. I’m amazed at how often we go at each other for choices made in a time that is so not normal. Biden knows MAGA doesn’t give a damn about law and order and did what he could for his son. Yes, they have something to point to now, but they’d cheer Trump on regardless.
comment in response to post
How people thought it wasn’t is still something that makes me feel like a crazy person. I don’t know how many times I was told it’s a “hoax” or I’m “fear mongering” when I talked about Project 2025, but it is insane how easily it was dismissed because a habitual liar said he doesn’t know about it.
comment in response to post
This is what I thought when I started seeing the responses. There’s way bigger issues we need to be focusing on right now. I get that it doesn’t sit well with everyone, but arguing over this while MAGA is setting the stage for a Government takeover is a waste of everyone’s time and energy.

I live in VA and you can count on me and my wife voting for freedom and against MAGA.

I just want to say that I’m thankful for The Lincoln Project and anyone else taking a stand and fighting back against the incoming administration. As sad as it is to know what is coming, I’m thankful there are groups and people willing to put in the work and fight for democracy and this country.

Whatever *reason* Fox and Newsmax give them will be their truth. Big companies hid behind inflation making record profits and they still blamed Biden. Facts don’t matter when you’re given a prefabricated narrative and there’s no reason or desire to question it.
comment in response to post
I can’t say I haven’t thought about it myself. I have a family. I don’t want them growing up in Trumpistan.
comment in response to post
Until this election, I legitimately thought this was common knowledge.
comment in response to post
This is how I see it as well. He took in the information and updated his knowledge. Most MAGA types just ignore facts that conflict with their version of reality, especially if it shows Trump in a bad light.
comment in response to post
Oh no. Not on that. I agree 100%. Bernie is the only one I know of who’s openly talking about the big issues like those.

For this notification while I was watching your class on Globalization. Thanks for all the great content and work you do!

I’d argue they still are that, but suck at taking credit and marketing their accomplishments.

Stop it. This is terrifying. 😱
comment in response to post
Why you gotta do that? Can’t we celebrate a bit first? 😭
comment in response to post
I’d say both of these are problems we need to work on, it’s not one or the other.
comment in response to post
Wow. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I agree with her.

It’s hard to have a meaningful conversation when you are trying to talk to someone who lives in an alternate reality created by Fox and similar “news” outlets. If you live in that bubble and believe all the bad things that happen to you are the fault of brown people, then only Trump can fix it.
