ICE doesn’t like what’s written on these cards. Get some and pass them around. They’re available online in 16 different languages. www.aclu.org/know-your-ri...

I guess I missed this. Which Executive Order is this and what does it have to do with Amber Alerts?

I appreciate this response from Ed Yong on why he requests that people mask at his events. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/m...

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”. This is a manifesto against disability. This is the language of eugenics.

I had a woman who took all my kids’ books about pride off display and threw them in the book drop. Joke’s on her. Any time you throw something in the book drop or hide something, we have to scan it back in. That’s a circ, which means they’re more likely to order more copies.

Reading responses on proposal to charge $2/hr parking (currently free but limited to 2hrs) in our "downtown" will ruin us because we rely on tourists & they won't want to come here if they have to pay to park. A lot of tourists come from Seattle. They will probably think it's an amazing deal!

It was only a matter of time before America got around to invading America

Random tip: If you are looking for free-range chicken eggs & to save $ buy the white eggs. People have it in their heads that brown is more organic, free-range, etc. so they put a higher price on it. The color just depends on the breed of the chicken. White still can be organic free range.

Last year when I booked this trip to Mexico for March 2025, I didn't think the most dangerous part would be the take-off and landing in the U.S. It's really on my mind now. Any other plane trips I plan in the next few years, I'm hoping I can fly out of Vancouver, Canada and back.

Felt like a I was on Kongen Befaler (TaskMaster Norway) when I had to figure out how to transport a heavy box (over 50lbs) that was delivered at the farm gate and get it to the garage (over 25 yrds) by myself & wheelbarrow unavailable. Yes, I did go to the shed to find a solution.

As a political scientist who studies countries that managed to stop the slide into authoritarianism, I can assure you that ***refraining from provoking the authoritarian*** is not how it works. Without further ado, I will now go tear out another chunk of hair.

This is what my dad gave my mum for Valentine's Day. The card said "In 2025 nothing says Love like eggs." The man has expensive taste!

Aaargh. My ticket-purchasing-gone-wrong gets worse. I was such in a hurry, I thought I was on the theatre's website. But my Chrome browser has now a default to Bing and I stupidly trusted that I was on the correct website, forgetting it wasn't Google. It was actually a second-hand ticket seller.

Opps. Misunderstood the ticket pricing on the website. It asked me how many tickets I wanted to the show. I said 2. I thought the prices were for TWO tickets. It didn't give me the actual total until AFTER I gave my Paypal Info.

For years, officials in the Czech Republic had pushed a dam project to protect a river south of Prague, and the critically endangered species living in it. But the project stalled. In the meantime, the beavers of Prague simply built dams themselves, saving the government some 1.2 million euros.

I wrote about the biggest rap performance of all time, Kendrick’s positioning of anti-Drake-ness as part of a larger pro-Blackness and justice for Serena Williams andscape.com/features/gen...

Just found out that a NYT article that talked shit about the company I work for ended up having to issue a bunch of corrections on said article - and not just about my company but other claims it made as well. We did nothing wrong. (Sorry to be vague, but I have to be)

Tired: conservatives hate Kendrick because they're racist Wired: conservatives hate Kendrick because they feel attacked by his anti-pedophile stance

Whoever gave the tip that adding profanity to your search will shut down the garbagey AI response is a saint. It's easy and it works.

Can someone just slip a "cancel all the student loans" EO into the pile? Accidentally delete the files? There must be one hero in DC

My manager was asking me about Starlink because she's getting frustrated with Comcast (We all WFH. I can attest that she's constantly losing internet) I was honest but trying to avoid politics so I didn't say what I wanted to: Please don't give the person trying to destroy our country any more $$

This is what revisionist history looks like, in real time. And this also is why it might appear that archaeologists and historians have to dig deep to discover the existence of powerful women and marginalized groups -- because their legacies are so often erased.

We watched a video in my Physics of Sound class of people trying to figure out WHY Stradivarius violins have the best sound *Spoiler Alert* It had to do with how the logs were transported back then: by water. It was because the wood was soaked in water

No! I don't want to wake up! I was dreaming of a place that was in walking distance from me that served vafler (Norwegian heart waffles).

I'm a big fan of bringing up stuff that a constituent might open a case for. My MoC is Pramila Jayapal, and this is the text on her website about what constituent services does:
