I often wonder what future archaeologists will make of the crop circle remains of this enclosure. Hut circle? Ritual significance? It's a sheepdog puppy training pen. The sheep are penned and the sheep dog puppy is taught clockwise and anti-clockwise commands around them. #archaeology #rural #dogs

The Bertrand Goldberg-designed Heimbach House tends to get the lion's share of modernism attention in Blue Island, but the town has a ton of good small-scale midcentury architecture. These three are all on the same block of Longwood. The first was town architect William Carlson's personal home.

This is an interesting thread. Thinking about it, the Federation is pretty much the only pop culture government that is represented as GOOD. There are a few in fantasy—Valdemar, maybe LOTR elves?—but it seems to crop up more in SF, and a lot more in an alien UN where the struggle is humans joining.
