Cheers. Thanks for clearing it up.

So much rap journalism from the blog era has disappeared in recent years. I wanted to connect those threads before more contemporary sources would drop from view. My respect for you guys is exactly what made me want to preserve this story.

Yes. Nobody asked me to write this, there werenā€™t any contracts signed before I was years along. I started the project on my own dime. This was not something that was offered to me by another party. I did it because it felt worthwhile to me to document this part of music history.

Side note: I obviously used videos, press releases, podcasts and interviews conducted by others for ā€˜KILL YOUR MASTERSā€™, alongside multiple interviews I conducted myself.

But if anyone in the team is taken aback by anything I did, thatā€™s not on me. They couldā€™ve let me know at any point. Thereā€™s no serious money in this. At all. I do hope you guys know this comes from a genuine place of appreciation for your work. Peace.

It was a huge labor of love that took me many years, because I believe in documenting the context in which art that I appreciate was created, and how that in turn influences the world around said art. That of course does not mean @el-p.bsky.social has to like what I did.

I even made sure the group itself got physical print proofs before publication. I handed them over to Mike and Gabe and asked them to give El one himself. Everyone knew this book was being made, as it was being made and I did my best to keep them all abreast with its development.

Iā€™ve sent several drafts of the book over the years. Various people involved with RTJ have asked to read it, I never told anyone off. Inversely, Iā€™ve never been requested by them not to continue or been told that anything I was doing was considered improper.

Denying Ukraine access to the Starlink system that props up what remains of their internet infrastructure, probably. www.reuters.com/business/us-...

Good point. And admirable how youā€™re still able to muster up empathy for those that arenā€™t.

It backfires everywhere. Same thing happened in The Netherlands. You can't outflank the far right on the right; they're too far down that road by definition. Trying to co-opt their lane only affirms their favorite talking points, and makes them more relevant in the eyes of the public.
