One of the main "gun aesthetic" of Star Trek (since TOS) is that the weapons never shoot straight and have zero recoil. It always feels like they are using some kind of auto-target nozzle. I would've loved to see them leaning into that by making weapons just look like a little hand-held mushroom.

It's cool but all I can think of is all that cache wasted by loading the same even gray texels over and over again. Surely this can be done with a few ALU instructions instead.

A lot of the "cool stuff" that LLMs can do is exactly that, which makes sense from a practical* standpoint, but it goes against the sales pitch.

He is that grumpy old guy who is the only one that knows exactly how to kick the massive machine in the basement just right to stop the meltdown.
Worst case he figures out why the meltdown happened after the fact.
It usually comes down to things melting, burning or exploding too fast or too slow

a) Forgotten my seat number
b) Confidently sat on the wrong spot
c) Mistook my gate for my seat number
d) Mistook my seat number for the gate
e) Mansplained my ticket to an actual steward and rightfully got a death stare. I was lucky to be allowed on the plane.
