Don't tell Trump, he'll see a leadership void and try to take over the catholic church.

Ha! Mostly wrong, but that's what you expect from ChatGPT. If it keeps the cynics away, we'll go with it.

Oh, it sounds very "boys will be boys...." justification for all sorts of awful behaviour

So awful for all those working in health care. And patients

I know families with intercountry adopted kids are scrambling to ensure they have multiple options of proof of citizenship available for their kids, lots of anxiety
comment in response to post
Because he's been allowed to manage his own conflicts of interest, he doesn't have to declare them.
comment in response to post
Of course. Absolutely no surprise
comment in response to post
Possibly it's too soon for widespread recognition of the problem. People just not realising the risk yet.

I know one group who is very anxious at the moment and that's intercountry adoption families, lots of scrambling to ensure they have multiple paperwork options for their kids.
comment in response to post
Exactly. Trump and his Co-President Musk, and the rest of them - weren't exactly hiding their intentions. But still people voted for him, or didn't bother turning up in enough numbers for other options. It's bloody tragic, but there was a choice made here.

I heard there were rallies planned today, good to hear there was a strong attendance

No he says in the article that circumstances have changed and now he has bigger work commitments, so he'll have to stay .....

It's a Waitangi week special, chuck in a Māori word to look like you're authentic. Impress the iwi. See what I did there??

This photo from Stuff this morning was David Seymour at the launch of the school lunch programme last year. So he's not a fan either 🤢
comment in response to post
Yuk. Who authorised them having a presence??
comment in response to post
Well, he is going to a marae. And Akaroa is always lovely.... I'm sure the locals will let him know what they think. (But, yes, Waitangi would have been the appropriate option).

Good description, we should sell the descriptions back to Compass for their marketing.

He hasn't "turned into", he's just the same he always was. People just chose to ignore the glaringly obvious
comment in response to post
Well THAT'S never going to happen, is it? He's not going to admit he's a terrible person/ leader and resign.

There's rain a'coming..... just in time for Chinese New Year fireworks.....

Yeah, kiwi friend who lives in California is considering a move back. Thought they would be safe enough in liberal CA but changes are at federal level so can't dodge it. Risk too high for her wee whanau with neurodiverse kid
comment in response to post
Yup, they either voted for Trump, or didn't bother to vote in enough numbers for other candidates. I am hugely sympathetic to those affected, but it shouldn't be a shock.
comment in response to post
Well, if only you'd spent more time on the internet, you might have heard some rumours.... 🤣🤣

Many schools do have vege gardens but realistically even a relatively modest school of 100 would have to plough up all their playing fields to provide produce for all, every season. Good skills for kids to learn and maybe take home though.
comment in response to post
Takes a pretty big, intensive garden to feed a whole school of kids, even if it's just snacks.
comment in response to post
I don't think he tagged along today. Saving it up for a special South Island occasion perhaps....
comment in response to post
He should definitely meet some locals while he's here.
comment in response to post
Well, it's not really on American soil. Just American-adjacent. So that's okay. Somehow.

Nah, you're here with the rest of us. This is home.

They're probably all thinking that people had the choice, they chose not Dem. So they get to deal with their choice now.

That's so disappointing but also not a surprise
