I could go on, but I guess you're thinking along similar lines.

All of this is harmful to anyone, but perhaps particularly to the church which is fundamently a (physically) gathered people who live alongside each other and encourage one another towards holiness. Digital distances us, reduces one-anothering whilst enabling us to critique others from a distance.

Perhaps in similar ways to the rest of society: increased anxiety (& FOMO), harming us relationally, easy to hide device-based addictions, no need to remember stuff (memory verses), exposure to harmful influences, increased polarisation and so on...

Yes! Got my photos in Plex years ago, but only just moved my music archive. This was the impetus needed! Now happily listening to stuff I haven't in years. Nice work @chromaticnova.com 👍

Thanks for the tips Sarah - I think you're right about the SOPs and paperwork side of things, never been my strong point but I can definitely see the value in creating them to support growth.

Hi 👋 I'm Jack I'm working on various client websites and my own #saas project. I need help moving from 'freelancer' to 'single person agency'. I've been freelance for over 15 years, and am wondering what the next 15 years will look like. Anyone been on a similar journey? Send me your advice!

My normal solution would be to switch to a hamburger menu once the viewport was too small for the desktop layout. This solution is much better than that, keeping as much visible as possible, whatever the screen size. hellochurch.tech #frontend #ux #ui #webdevelopment #html #css #javascript

If a 'parent' is clicked or tapped this toggles a class which shows/hides its children. This ensures it works properly on touch screens. For desktop or laptop users normal hover states work as expected.

Your future clients (and self) will thank you!

Thanks Jonny. I got tinnitus a few years ago, and now hearing loss in the right ear, which also makes the tinnitus worse. All a bit of a mystery.

Seems I've got to wait a few weeks/months for an MRI. In the meantime I'm on the list for hearing aids. Nice.

✏️ And perhaps most importantly - be brave and embrace 'good is better than perfect'. Being too self critical or a perfectionist will stifle your flow. An incremental move towards your objective is always better than stagnation. Get on with it! #communication #marketing

✏️ Don't attempt to speak to more than 1 audience at a time ✏️ Be concise, but demonstrate expertise ✏️ Find people who will give you honest but constructive feedback, and listen to them ✏️ Choose your platform according to audience ✏️ Be focussed - know what you're trying to achieve ✏️ Stretch yourself

Ready for the plasterer. Then it'll be my office for a few weeks, before the arrival of our baby 🤓

Nice work Philipp. And nice to see you back on 🦋 I've just signed up for backl.io, as I'm getting close to launching my own #saas project. Will be interested to see what impact the backlinks have in my case. I'll email you some details, as per your request 😀

Glad to hear you're OK Jonny, and that you benefitted from the enforced digital detox.

Some of us are old enough to remember when everyone's screen was 1024x768 - unless you were a fancy pants and had a 17" running 1280x960. Those were the days.

And what's coming next? 🏡 An online booking system for a holiday lettings company in Whitby 🍛 A food-ordering system for another local restaurant & take-away ⛵ A booking system for a town centre property development

Savvy business owners are doing something about it. In recent weeks I've built: 🍕 An online ordering system for a local take-away which has already saved the owners hundreds of pounds 🏕️ A booking sytem for a caravan site which we anticipate will save the owners several thousand pounds per year

But commission rates often end up crippling small businesses, who end up paying expensive fees of one kind or another. Owners are often unable to contact their customers directly too. This can exacerbate the problem; firms become dependent on the big platforms, whilst not benefitting in real terms.

And... if I import the downloaded .ics file from my computer into Google, rather than subscribing via URL, the repeat events work! Bizarre.
