It didn't come out terrible. But I can imagine it'd look significantly better if you could actually tell apart the different articles of clothing rather than all the black and grays blending into each other.

Virtual Game card shenanigans?
It might be a stretch, but maybe when they updated virtual cards the save data went back to the orginal Switch. Or like the game pull cloud data and just assume your first Switch was your primary console or something?

That just feels like a more logical assumption to me rather than just assuming that her being a kid is normal and the Nintendo is pulling some complex timeline stuff, or just assuming Nintendo doesn't care about continuity.
Granted, Nintendo does lean towards gameplay over continuity, but still.

I like how they've gone back to the traditional naming sceme for new Kong characters. Makes them feel more at home in the series. Well except void kong, but for some reason that still works for me.

But yeah. I'm not stressing over it too much because it seemed pretty clear from the start that this game is just doing it's own thing, while trying to appease to both fans from the arcade and Country era.

That and the fact Rare actually bothered with lore for the series makes it stand out as a narrative series for the die hard fans.

Nintendo has always prioritized gameplay over lore so it's not a huge shock. Though I think it sticks out a bit more with DK just because they've tended to be so straight forward that a linear timeline just worked without much explanation.

Are you aware of any of the community made alternatives for bookmarks? They're not perfect, but I've been using them pretty consistently and they work alright.
