fuck @npr.org for legitimizing the idea of Canada as the 51st state. Dressing it up as “discussion” doesn’t make you better than Fox News. This isn’t a debate - it’s an existential threat. Would you ask Ukrainians how they feel about Russian annexation? Or is imperialism only bad when others do it?

If that were true, this would be a discussion for Canadians only—not an open mic for Americans. Letting them weigh in on our sovereignty doesn’t challenge the threat, it legitimizes it. No serious country debates annexation with the very people who have no say in it. Unbelievable.
