I’m assuming, with COVID the spread rate may be higher than the flu? Or that COVID targets the lungs whereas the flu might not impact that as much? Having asthma, when I got COVID for the first time last year it was incredibly mild, but my doc was concerned enough to give me a nebulizer treatment.

Great callout - def can see that as well. Is there a difference in what COVID can do to someone with a compromised immune system vs. let’s say the flu? Had we been fine going mask-free during flu season all this time, or have I just been to privileged to know this has been going on forever?

I may be very off-base here, and this feels icky… totally onboard w/ mask req’t during spikes, but I see a request like “force everyone in an event to wear a mask” when there is a vaccine and boosters. Happy medium might be adding safety precautions to the invite and masks available at the event.

I understand and see your perspective… but requiring everyone to wear a mask at every event moving forward until infinity seems like an overreach. I myself am considered high-risk, so I take personal accountability to check COVID spikes, keep up w my boosters and yes, wear a mask when traveling.
