I could have ended the COVID epidemic in 2020 before it got out of hand, but the CDC would not listen to me. Now we are rolling the product out worldwide this year and it's not just COVID but many respiratory problems we resolve without one treatment. People with real money finally got behind me!😇

Meanwhile, in Florida, my mom has needed new lungs since she got Covid in 2020, and has been in and out of the hospital for the last 5 years. She is down to 20% lung function, and my dad is still spouting about Trump did everything he could, and the CDC and AMA are at fault. Sigh

I still mask up. At every market, theater, indoor place with a crowd. There are still too many filthy, dirty,contagious Trump stooges out there. I haven't had a cold or flu in 5 years.

Notice they also had an online option. This is the way. Not only for Covid but for inclusivity - it's hard for people from out of town to travel & it's not carbon friendly to drive/fly

I understand and see your perspective… but requiring everyone to wear a mask at every event moving forward until infinity seems like an overreach. I myself am considered high-risk, so I take personal accountability to check COVID spikes, keep up w my boosters and yes, wear a mask when traveling.

I may be very off-base here, and this feels icky… totally onboard w/ mask req’t during spikes, but I see a request like “force everyone in an event to wear a mask” when there is a vaccine and boosters. Happy medium might be adding safety precautions to the invite and masks available at the event.

It's important to note that being boosted effectively reduces the risk you will be hospitalized, but does not meaningfully reduce your risk of catching/transmitting COVID or your risk of long COVID. There are also many high-risk people (who are not anti-vax!) who cannot safely get vaccinated.

Great callout - def can see that as well. Is there a difference in what COVID can do to someone with a compromised immune system vs. let’s say the flu? Had we been fine going mask-free during flu season all this time, or have I just been to privileged to know this has been going on forever?

I’m assuming, with COVID the spread rate may be higher than the flu? Or that COVID targets the lungs whereas the flu might not impact that as much? Having asthma, when I got COVID for the first time last year it was incredibly mild, but my doc was concerned enough to give me a nebulizer treatment.

The problem isn't whether your case is "mild" (again, the vax is good at that). The problem is the data is consistent that about 5% of cases result in diagnosable ME/CFS, which is debilitating and incurable, even if you're just looking at vaxxed patients with post-Omicron strians.

An alternative is to support the development of anti bodies or some kind of prophylaxis that works for immunocompromised or suppressed. I know I get frustrated when the answer is always for the immunocompromised person to just accept the risk for everyone else’s convenience.

Stick to virtual which this was. Not applauding ppl wearing masks to go do nonessential things. That's not helping end the pandemic. Covid levels are very high. This isn't incentivizing change. This isn't year 1. This is normalizing You-Do-You.
