A joy shared is a joy doubled A woe shared is a woe halved šŸ–¤

Tricky as hell with COVID and anti mask sentiment, especially for housebound and/or immunocompromised people. (I'm both.) Mask tf up. If enough people do, I can have the in person social life I deserve & won't have to be so dangerously lonely.

I prefer DEIA. The war on disabled people is also segregation. The way things are going with COVID forcing vulnerable people to isolate, we're being kept out of the public eye. The effect is remarkably similar to that of the Ugly Laws which forbid visibly disabled people from existing in public.

Ed Yong is such a real one <3 www.nytimes.com/2025/02/22/m...

Measles is LUDICROUSLY contagious. You can catch it by breathing air in a room where someone who had it breathed a couple hours before. Mask up.

NIH recently found 1 in 22 ppl whoā€™d had Covid developed ME/CFS. The ā€œmildā€ form of that disease, as @julialmv.bsky.socialā€™s graph shows, means losing capacity to do 50% of your daily activities. What would you give up? Friends? Time w/your kids? Could you cut work hours in half w/o losing yr job?

When people say, ā€œOnly disabled people will die from this,ā€ know that could also mean YOU. You can become part of the disability community at any time and will inevitably become disabled unless you die early. Disability is a part of life. Be careful when you exclude us because it could be you next.

While we are all talking about revolution, itā€™s important that you include disabled people in every aspect. That means doing whatā€™s necessary to protect us. That means protecting us from easily prevented diseases. It means wearing a proper mask.

Itā€™s no mystery. COVID is airborne, very contagious, and dozens of entertainers & performers were gathered closely together & not wearing masks. Canā€™t believe weā€™re still doing this five years in. www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/m...

i hope you all know that disabled people are just first on his roster. weā€™ll not be the last to be killed. what happens to us will happen to you too.

Prevalence of erectile dysfunction as long-COVID symptom in hospitalized Japanese patients. "The present study showed that 19% of the male patients admitted by COVID-19 developed erectile dysfunction 1 and 2 year after COVID-19 in the Japanese cohort." Source: archive.md/Nc2o4

As more States propose mask bans, I want to take a moment to discuss claims that itā€™s ā€œfear mongeringā€ to say that masking is illegal. People claim the medical exemption is ā€œgood enoughā€. This ignores three critical points. Public perception, anti mask sentiment and rampant ableism šŸ§µ

Worth emphasizing just how badly the COVID minimizers in the pediatrics community have betrayed every single one of their patients. The initial screwup in 2020 may have been ignorance, but the ones still doubling down? Hard to see any innocent explanation. www.chop.edu/news/chop-re...

Maryland Dept. of Health asks for universal masking as respiratory protection from viruses. @wypr.bsky.social bit.ly/WYPR_Mask2025 Yet, Democratic state delegates want to ban masks.šŸ§µ #StopMaskBans

We need to stop blaming people for their disabilities. Health is not a permanent state. Most people will experience disability at some point in their lives. Weā€™re not less than. We didnā€™t do anything wrong. We deserve equitable, dignified and adequate support.

One of the things about Covid that takes a toll on me emotionally is knowing there are a ton of kids becoming chronically ill who donā€™t even know it. Theyā€™re going to grow up thinking pain is ā€œnormalā€. They will keep getting reinfected & losing points off a baseline they never got to figure out.

New Yorkā€™s protest against the Trump Administration on Presidents Day. More of this please! (Video by @vuralelibol.bsky.social)

Study suggests COVID-19 infection no longer grants long-lasting immunity. "Pre-Omicron, infection meant you had 80% protection against re-infection one year later. Post-Omicron, this has fallen to 5% protection at one year" Study: www.nature.com/articles/s41...

I justā€¦have my suspicions about the revolutionary capacity of a left-wing population who abandoned disabled and high-risk people at the drop of a hat for an assurance of their own normality. But itā€™s not to late to fix that particular choice (except for all the dead and disabled people who canā€™t)

hellllloooo! wanted to make a quick lil intro of what weā€™re all about :). Punk4Punk is an outlet for a t4t, unhoused couple to share art with the community, and ALL profits from this go towards local mutual aid outreach. TLDR: get some sick art, feed some people! all in one place šŸ–¤

Holy shit Iā€™m fucking autistic. I accommodate myself so much it feels like Iā€™m not but I just showed up to an event Iā€™m tabling at and was instantly shut down by the commotion around me. Sitting outside until itā€™s time for my shift šŸ˜šŸ˜ I cannot handle spaces where there are a bunch of people milling

You know, with how much our financial institutions are being compromised by president musk, we might eek out a silver lining where we have to get rid of credit and all our financial slates get wiped clean and we can start over with something better. Just trying to hold on to hope!

A mask is one of the most effective tools of the resistance. A well fitted respirator like an N95 protects from Covid, flu, H5N1, TB, measles & more. It sends a strong message to the government that your health is worth protecting & that you will not obey in advance. It makes activism accessible

I'm so profoundly grateful to the people who are just plugging away and fighting back in so many different kinds of ways. Bless you.

Hey guys meta announced a new policy where they send a killer to get you so be sure to go to settings>my account > killer> disable killer to turn that off

Autism is a difference in neurology, a different neuro-type Autism is not a disorder Therefore, being autistic is not something that needs to be 'fixed' in someone Vaccines do not cause someone to be autistic (having autistic parents usually does)

A lot of chronic illness is post viral. People are healthy until they get flu, mono, covid etc It only takes one infection to upend your life & leave you with severe disabilities RFK Jr says he wants to end chronic illness epidemic & yet will make avoiding viruses harder Get boosted. Wear a mask.

Vaccines DO NOT cause autism. But what the autistic people in your life hear when you spread that widely debunked misinformation is that you would prefer to have a child die a painful death from eradicated communicable disease than to be like them. That's nasty work. Hope this helps!

The effect of all the worst, biggest sex pest fuckups on earth claiming autism as an excuse for their dipshittery, will be increased eugenics. Each time one of these dipshits announces autism as a justification, they cement the public perception of autism as dangerous, antisocial, predatory, etc

Please do this for me. If I lose Medicaidā€¦ I'm dying by inches as it is. Without something like $10k/month in medical care, it will happen faster and my symptoms will get much worse. My only personal income sources are SSI & food stamps.

"The winner is not the side that initially prevailed, the side of public safety. The winner is the side that minimized the disease, then rejected public-health measures to prevent its spread, and finally refused the vaccines designed to protect against its worst effects." Source: archive.md/hzdgu

ā€œYouā€™re so lucky you donā€™t have to work!ā€ Disability IS a full time job. Only you donā€™t get paid. You donā€™t have opportunity for advancement. You never get to earn more money. You spend every dime trying to stay alive. You live below the poverty line. Youā€™re judged constantly. šŸ§µ

Flu rates are at a 15-year high. How will you act differently?

Hello everyone, As an immunocompromised individual, I fight every day for all of us. My body may be weak, but my resolve is unshakable. I will keep reporting on deadly threats lives depend on it. Follow us for real-time updates. Please spread the word. The world needs to know.

ā€œAre you really going to wear a respirator forever? Youā€™re not even living!ā€ I donā€™t understand this mindset. I AM living in my respirator. My mask helps me keep living by assisting me in avoiding COVID infections. It helps me maintain a baseline. I will wear it as long as itā€™s necessary!

#boycottAmazon Haven't bought anything from #amazon #target #walmart in a month. Plan to continue this trend for as long as it takes.

"It's just the flu" The last time I had the flu, it gave me Celiac disease & now if I accidentally eat a breadcrumb, my body attacks itself until it gets bored and doctors are like 'damn, that sucks, drink water, I guess'

Hello, please pay attention: A Nevada dairy worker has contracted the deadly D1.1 strain of bird flu, seen in a British Columbia teen who recovered and a Louisiana victim who died. This mutated strain spreads rapidly among mammals, including cattle, and is moving faster than others.

Hi there is a bad flu and a rise in Covid hitting simultaneously and it is very dumb to not wear a well-fitted kn95 or n95 in these circumstances unless you enjoy horrible body aches and fever and congestion and coughing for weeks and possible death or permanent disability.

You know after I saw that T cells dipped due to C19 I said Iā€™m expecting TB prevalence to go up. Guess whatā€™s happeningā€¦ in multiple locationsā€¦
