Just play clips!

This book is a must read that tells you to never give up.

Precisely the reason why I don't like people with a "dry" sense of humor. Won't let a play on words hide cruelty.

This is why you fight these cowards. The moment you stand up to them, they crumble. Homan has nothing. The Fourth Amendment is clear and I am well within my duties to educate people of their rights. He can threaten me with jail and call names all he wants. He’s got nothing else.

Going through some old stuff I found this—made by my now 20 year old son, judging by the handwriting, when he was in about 4th grade. It made me laugh. #gulfofmexico

What's the percentage of films from that era that could never be made today? Melancholy and the elusiveness of youth frame this character portrait.

Strap the rocket to her back and get out of her way.

A really beautiful tribute by Marya detailing how David Lynch’s work has continually touched her life.

The press is falling into the same trap as before with Trump by framing his criminality and authoritarianism as political disagreements www.publicnotice.co/p/liz-cheney... The press is ignoring the real Liz Cheney scandal

The best thing you can do is hire people who will disagree with you.

A big happy birthday to @mattzollerseitz.bsky.social, whose kindness and generosity always has me in awe.

4 days before Christmas, this is what Party City did to their employees. It's important to note that this CEO makes nearly $3 million a year & the HR person crying later in the article makes more than $1 million per year. No severance for the hourly workers. Shame on PC.

sesame street isn't supposed to make money. the post office isn't supposed to make money. not everything is supposed to MAKE MONEY

Love him.

Blue Collar is a must watch.

Absolutely. Between The Leopard and The Swimmer, Lancaster owned aging world-weary confronted by a changing world. One with more dignity but both great performances.

Sending positive energy. Love The Playlist. Everyone should follow.

I have lived my professional life as an entrepreneur and small business owner. I love making money and success but even I can see the deck is stacked against us. Without a strong middle class, everyone suffers.

Yeah that's where we're at. Via Sam Adler-Bell for @nymag.com:

Saw this film when I was about 10 or so for the first time, maybe the premiere on network tv and the ending still haunts me all those years later. Actually, now that I'm thinking about it, so many moments do.

Just subscribed. Catch this deal. Support an important voice in baseball and our world.

This whole thread. One of the drums I consistently bang on is the idea that the majority of “civility” requirements is code for “the way we hurt you is polite and therefore allowed and you may not complain; the way you hurt us is rude and boorish and therefore you do not matter.”

Brick by brick, we're building a government that works for working people. 💪🏽 (Thanks to my team for this fun pic!)

It is appalling that Blue Cross will refuse to pay for anesthesia during surgery if it goes too long. The current system is broken. Democrats will regain trust by standing up to special interest insurance companies and fighting for #MedicareForAll. www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/a...

"Democrats Will Keep Losing Until They Cut Ties With Billionaires and Corporations" Justice Democrats' @alexandrasiera pens a powerful op-ed for @zeteo.com

Can't stress this enough: Democrats need to eject the Scarboroughs and Cheneys from the movement, embrace the AOCs, Warrens and Crocketts, then decide what they stand for, dig a foxhole and defend it to the end.

NO. /nō/ 69 years ago today, the Montgomery Bus Boycott put America on notice: Black people were tired of giving in. This pivotal stand helped integrate public buses & ignited the Civil Rights Movement. It showed the power of unity & the demand for justice.

Seats still available for the director's cut of Terry Gilliam's BRAZIL tonight at Classic Cinemas - Elk Grove. Collin Souter is hosting this very rare screening. Don't miss your chance at 7 PM tonight. Wicked can wait. www.classiccinemas.com/f/brazil/1439

Trump’s cabinet nominees illustrate how Trumpists ignore allegations of sexual assault unless they can be weaponized to justify discrimination against groups of people they want to demonize www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Interesting to see this image of Kevin Kine to juxtapose it with his performance in Disclaimer. The carefully constructed stories we tell ourselves to hide from our realities. Go back to his earliest work in Sophie's Choice and The Big Chill to see this theme at any age.

Nicholson’s performance in Warren Beatty’s REDS is one of his finest. Subtle and deeply felt. He only has a few scenes, but it makes me long for a whole film about this great, complicated artist and the times he lived in.

Just bought 2 different Miyazaki books from @mzspress.bsky.social for my sons as gifts.

Every look, gesture are a window to his soul. I watch just his scenes to reconnect to my own humanity.

Can you send some of your backbone to Morning Joe?

Thought about this film when @mattzollerseitz.bsky.social asked what film you saw multiple times in the theater. It was only three times but it was a very long film!

Rich, coming from the man who tore the public option out of of Obamacare. And just made a windfall from his connections as ambassador.

If we’re going to take on Trump, Republican extremists, and move our country forward, the Democratic Party needs to be stronger. I'm running for Chair of the Democratic National Committee to unite the party, fight everywhere, and win. Join me. 🧵

A central problem of the so-called prestigious colleges and universities is they define their value by how exclusive they are. They do this exactly at a time when the country desperately needs more educated people.

I think the thing that grinds my gears the most about the argument that “we were founded as a Christian nation” is that this topic was in fact endlessly debated and fought over during the founding and those who wanted a secular government fucking WON. This is not secret knowledge. They wrote it down

these guys are coming for birth control, for divorce, they want to bring back anti-sodomy laws... all the ways a theocracy can be involved with your junk, they want it

Literally one of the best films of all time. I raced to see this version when I arrived in London for a semester abroad. It wasn’t open in US yet. The tracking shot to Ian Holm still gives me chills.
