It’s strange how exercised much of the news media are about a 3.1% chance of a small asteroid hitting the Earth in 2032, while at the same time they seem relatively unmoved by the near certainty we will have reached a dangerous level of climate warming by then.

The studio is getting closer to being finished - just about all the gear is in place and computer playback works. Still lots of wiring to do but it should be ready enough for me to transfer some 1" 8 track tapes from the early 1970s at the end of the week.

I've just spent a few minutes on this though I'm maybe not a typical gig goer. Please share your thoughts on the UK music industry by taking the #MusicFansVoice survey 👉 musicfansvoice.uk

Priesty McPriestface was my first thought! But having been a "victim" of the previous naming debacle, it has it's up side too. Nowadays I can tell people that I helped build Boaty McBoatface and they actually have some idea of what I'm talking about.

And still buzzing - probably the most hauntingly beautiful song of hers so far but I can't help feeling there is more to come...

I've not watched the whole session but in the first few minutes Clare did a great job of explaining what home education is about for many parents while the local authority rep showed just how little understanding she had of the home ed community (home education is NOT home schooling).

I'm still buzzing from performing a couple of songs at Gallery No 30 in Petersfield. Someone watching said this sounded like it was written 200 years ago but Tegan only settled on these lyrics earlier in the week.

Very interesting to see Rob's thoughts on this. He has been studying this glacier for some time now.

I had an AI call me an "Audio Wizard" today. I still think Kym Bradshaw's "Genius sound engineer" description was more apt - even though I don't really deserve it.

Out today - mastered here. Youtube link in next post

Interesting article about sailing into ice. I sailed on this ship's predecessor a few times and it is certainly very noisy when you are trying to make your way through the floes as they are pushed out of the way. www.theguardian.com/environment/...
