Thanks! That's a follow. Her panel talk at BL Food Season a couple of years back was great.

I've had the irn bru syrup sat in the back of the fridge for over a year, so just using was satisfying. Good drink, but getting enough bru flavour through while controlling sweetness is (perhaps unsurprisingly) tricky. Not bad tipple though!

There's also one coming out from my friend Robin Sherriff which I've enjoyed contributing a few pages too www.whsmith.co.uk/Product/DK/T...

Thanks - developing a love/hate relationship with the messages in the otherwise lonely landscape. But, hole!

They're bloody delicious when they're ripe. Soursweet and refreshing. Popular in Thailand.

Agreed - the only purpose is to see how much service can be cut before someone gamely asks, "well, can we privatise it?"

Also, interesting to read this - though if they're degrading their phone services in the hope people will use online chat, they'd need to actually staff the online chat www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Directly related: I'm trying to declare a single job I did for an overseas client, but all the options for foreign income seem to be about dividends, interest and loans.
I can't speak to them, of course, as the phone line is too busy to even let me queue.

I wonder if I couldn't get editors to stipulate fake deadlines so I can fix all the interminably broken stuff around the house...

I hear you! It's definitely much kinder here than twitter. As a textual info person I still refer to your reddit-posted recipes, but knowing you have a Substack now is good.

Woah. Surely this is not negroni as in negroni?? Bitter, herbal cheese sounds like a new frontier.

For some unknown teenage reason it looks like I tried to black out the logo even though I'm sure I liked HT!

It's really neat if you have a lot of cookbooks (or really any amount if you have a poor memory and/or willpower to leaf through them when making dinner plans)

I think it's a memory that's been lost to the blur of time, but I do feel like I remember noticing the definition of leaves on trees!

I only found out because we were given some kind of sight chart as 'homework' and it turned out I couldn't read any of it!

Not that I've found, but I should probably try bing or duckduckgo more. Customer inertia is definitely what allows Google's decline.

Voice notes are somehow even more egregious to me - you're already in WhatsApp, just type. Or if you're not able, dictate to text.

I was quite pleased with myself for buying 'backups' of a particularly dear soft toy, until allegiances switched to another, now 'out-of-print' jellycat hound dog and I had to sweat through price-gouging ebay & vinted listings.

I wish I could just eat 70g and not think about it, but the Italian half of me is making 👌 signs at the scales.

My in-laws couldn't countenance eating as much pasta as we do - I try and remember now so I don't over face them.

I'm very into the beer ideas. Siren are almost always bloody great, and I now regret not trying this eisbock at Pillars. Rochefort 10 is 👌 also.
