Verona Sands local. Recently our little beach has been carpeted with Salps (Nov), Moon Jellyfish (Jan), and now Salmon fat? (still nothing from EPA or Huon's test results).

Photo of the fishy, smelly, fatty 'something' captured on Sunday 15th Feb.

My local beach. I grabbed a photo of the 'material' on Sunday. It was in a band on the HW mark along the 1 km length of the beach.

Quite inspiring. Hopefully, the Bin Chickens are taking notes.

10 (feels like 3.5deg) here...telltale wisps of smoke from the woodheater flue.

Yet another reason to help the wonderful voters of Dickson doing the right thing when voting at the upcoming election.

Sure reads better than 'Hi Michelle, it's Peter...Dutton. Just wondering if you do me a favour..' would.

OK...But a shame that no one had an Ikea gallows handy.

Found it! Pink Sand Star (Bollonaster Pectinatus). Thanks to Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) and their Field Guide to Tasmanian Fauna app.. apparently no longer available on PlayStore.😒

'Stability' is often just a facade. eg: the previous LNP Gov't only survived by appeasing a bunch of Nats crazies who repeatedly killed proposed climate and energy policies.

Thanks very much for the link. Classic Savva

Good to see that I'm not gonna die alone on the 'But it isn't a policy!' hill. Dutton must be delighted seeing yet more expert analysis of something that doesn't exist.

Pouch young onboard?

That 'policy' should have been laughed out of town on day one. Instead, a lot of people are wasting a lot of time dissecting a fart bubble.
comment in response to post
Yep. There's a huge difference between a disappointment and a disaster.

A government worthy of that title would have died of shame by now. Instead, this clownshow is determined to completely ruin the joint with their AFL stadium.

Meanwhile in Tassie people are dragging out their puffer jackets before going out to walk their dogs. It was 12deg ('feels like 6') when I went out at 10am.

Hmmm. I'm pretty sure that Dutton's 'Nuclear' policy is meant to serve the same purpose as Trump's 'Drill baby, drill'. Scare off potential investment in renewables.

Well done @australia.theguardian.com, not one mention of Lisa's take on the likely source of all those excess nutrients...salmon farming. Listen: www.abc.net.au/listen/progr...

IMO Laura Tingle was right. Australia is a racist country. Howard exploited that repeatedly, while Labor since Beazley seems to have been terrified of being judged as not racist enough.
comment in response to post
Oh good grief! Months later and people are still treating this as a serious policy. Dutton, O'Brien et al must be delighted that their monstrous dead cat is still shielding them from any actual policy questions.
comment in response to post
Or is the 'nuclear option' a 'dead cat'?

Is this the time or place for a discussion on whether storms 'pull down' trees, or do they push them?
comment in response to post
A bit concerned seeing serious people taking Dutton's half-arsed 'nuclear policy' seriously. To me he has no interest in nuclear energy, but will do anything to disrupt the transition to renewables.
comment in response to post
Irrelevant IMO. He's not interested in nuclear energy, just anything that could disrupt the transition to renewables, and extend our reliance on fossil fuels.

Great yarn mate, but we all know that this is just too improbable to be true.

To me he seems a bit broken by the Voice result, now just thrashing about looking for a connection other than his backstory of a single mum in public housing or occasional DJ stints. Hopefully he'll not resort to a ukelele.

Memories of Vic Gov repeated refusals to introduce motor boat operator licensing due to pressure from BIAVIC in '70s and '80s. I'm sure that they're armed and ready for a 'PWC' restrictions fight. www.biavic.com.au/position-sta...

That would be an ABC Aussie Rules online forum. Loosely moderated by a bunch of ABC sports presenters, so discussions covered a wide range of topics other than footy.

My last place had Elm runners growing behind the skirting boards. Fixed by murdering the tree with glyphosate
