The prices on used M1/M2 Macs took a huge nosedive around here recently. That might be a good option. I usually buy an off-lease business machine, like a Thinkpad or Elitebook, sometimes you get lucky and the company purchased an extended warranty and it's still good for a couple years.

Yeah here in Canada it was sold at retail. Not for long, or in large quantity though.

Oh heck yeah. I remember asking for the official Linux kit one year for Christmas. I never got it, but I remember reading reviews not long after saying it was a completely average experience. Neat idea though.

One of my favourite parts from when I studied archaeology in university was the ethics class they had us take. There was no clear consensus among any of my professors whether excavation and preservation of ruins was ethical or not. One was very against artifact reconstruction as well.

American politics is such a mess. At what point in the campaign is it ok to say that the nation deserves whoever it gets? They’re both terrible candidates and that was somehow the best that could be trotted out.
