in my home state, the College of Menominee Nation offers four-year bachelor's programs, including, elementary/middle school eduction, as well as, two-year associate's programs and technical diplomas, in fields like welding and electricity. in short, it helps solve labor shortages.

The journalist is a confidence man but more often they are a mark, and it is awfully important to keep remembering this.

Why are journalists criticizing Dems over petty nonsense when the Republicans are permitting a tyrannical Authoritarian Takeover to ensue? The Dems have no checks and balances power right now. Only the Courts and Press do. The Courts are doing their jobs, but the Press is failing.

Republicans do as they've always done, seek to avoid accountability for Republicanism. They want to pretend their party's current state is not a logical result of its history.

i also ask them to hang out at the local B&N and practice reading magazines on topics they enjoy and practice reading captioning for foreign languages movies. not solutions, but students tell me this practicing helps.

most of these students come from families in which their parents likewise cannot read effectively, by the way. my solution is to introduce them to my colleague who teaches reading. some of my students will take reading classes.

the essence of the Republican party is a tax rate that favors the wealthy over everyone else.

the glasses are an issue, yes. but so is usefulness to storytelling. synchronized sound made dialogue possible and non-diegetic sound, widescreen enabled composing for a rectangle instead of a square, color enhanced production design, all three were game changers for storytelling.

after the deaths of my parents, i was going through their VHS collection of taped tv shows and found hours and hours of footage of Audra. some of the shows repeats of previous broadcasts. Audra and Barbara Cook. 😹

team Audra (as my parents would expect (demand) me to be)

I was surprised to learn people need to clean their ovens, a clear indicator people use them for something other than storing a cast-iron skillet. go figure

when i hear this particular excuse my thoughts immediately turn to the immigrant families that live on my block. like all the other kids, their kids play outside. bikes, scooters, tossing balls. the idea of ICE invading my happy sanctuary alternately brings me to tears/scares me to my core

this "it would target gang members" excuse only opens the door to another question, who made them believe immigrants are gang members
