They come and go when it's cold out and help themselves to the cat food occasionally. But relax, I don't interfere with the wildlife in my giant 1 acre backyard. They are mostly deterred by the cats I've caught, neutered, and released.

That's very correct. I can want a possum, but I don't interact with them. Just as I was forced to rescue 3 raccoon babies when the mother "disappeared" and drive them to a licensed wildlife shelter, I would absolutely do the same for a possum. I do love them, but in reality, I would never keep one
