Every summer my entire area gets this, what my kids and I call, “summer snow.” All the cottonwood trees release their seeds and fill the sky like this. It “snowed” on me while I gardened yesterday and it made me smile when I really needed it. So I thought I’d share the magic 🤍

Speaking of gardening, I've been mowing the front but neglecting the back. Like Homer Simpson, I'm "mowing" it with a weed eater before I can actually mow.
Allergic to most trees (really) including cottonwood. That’s pollen coming down.

Soon time to bring out the pressure washer.

We have hundreds of cottonwood trees around our home and see a lot of it, too. It's wonderful to look at and my partner and I say, "It's snowing." Lol
But the mess... Ugh. On the patio, stuck on the furniture, on the car, at the front door, at the back door... It's a bugger.
My nose itches just watching.

Oh, pro-tip 🤣😖 don’t try to set accumulations of the fluff on fire (a friend did when I was a kid and set the underbrush (and a cat) on fire.
Assuming you're wearing eye protection 😄
I wonder what this growling in the background may be? 🤔
It was still nice, just heralded another seasonal maintenance task.
“Let me be by myself in the evenin' breeze
And listen to the murmur of the cottonwood trees
Send me off forever, but I ask you please
Don't fence me in” 🌙 ✨ 🌬️ 🌳
Tho of course spaces in fences do allow critters in, such as hedgehogs 🦔 💞 🌱 .

And for all you allergy hypochondriacs commenting here...relax. It's a video. Enjoy the intent. It's not going to hurt you...unless your a hypochondriac.

The leaves dance in a way that looks alive. It's magical.
I've watched this dance since I was small child and it still hypnotizes me.
Latest is with Snow White (Allegra) 🙄
Those are seeds, so "tree babies" if you'd like.
Pollen is invisible, and serves to pollinate. The result of pollination is an embryo, contained in a seed. That's what you see here.
it's lovely.
