Side note, I met Dean Haglund, who played Richard "Ringo" Langly in the X-Files, at a party in London many years ago. We spoke a lot about different things, but mostly conspiracy theories. Seemed like a nice dude.

It's only napping if it comes from the Napping Region in France. Otherwise, it's just Sparkling Sleep.

Sometimes. It’s really become my favorite part. Because at that stage, the script could still be amazing. Sometimes I don’t want to write the script so it will exist in my head as an amazing script that never got written.

Write the sh*t out of your next thing. You show that blank page who's boss.

I do Mickey Mouse. But am fascinated by The Kermit. Pretty sure I remember Chevy Chase doing The Kermit in… probably one of The Fletch movies at least.

Those masks were introduced in the first movie. So believability and physics…?

The whole thing disappeared except for a separate library for the current film I'm working on. And I was like "maybe the universe is telling me I should be doing this for the rest of the day..."🤷‍♂️

What is cool is that no microbudget films were harmed during this process. However, they don't pay me enough money... Yet.

Sounds like the title of a play.

This was not meant to sound as curt and obnoxious as it seems to upon another read.

Well that’s good because I don’t exactly care if my stuff is commercial. It will find an audience. Maybe a niche one. But it will find one.

Hope you said “help is on the way, dear!”

Don’t worry it’s not a therapy piece. Did my time with that 20-odd years ago. I just don’t know if I’m a good enough writer for what it deserves. Even though I think I’ve written about a dozen screenplays. I either need to write more first or just dive into it.

Thanks. Maybe I’ll use your consulting services one day and get feedback on the script about it 😂 Working on the outline.

Sometime in 2004 at a party. Me: So my dad died a couple of years ago and… Guy walks away. Me: Nice to meet you!

Alas, it seems he is anti “same sex marriage” or were you saying he needs to sort that out in himself?

Either Mike or Laura from Falling for You. He acts like a big player, but she outplays him. She's the mirror of him. He's a clown, and she has coulrophilia. Seems to work. I made character trailers. Here's hers: youtu.be/cwNmXiWtBp8?...

Saw a new doc the other day. Me: Both my kids have ADHD. I was wondering if they got it from me. Doc: Do you really want to open that box? You could have all those tests and it’s 50-50 if you have it. Me: (thinks) So like with anything. Me: Ok.

I like to have some nonsense to watch too. My go-to is Lie to Me or Blackadder. But now I have The Mentalist to go through. Didn't see it originally. Been watching High Potential and Matlock as well. They're all the same show.

We're late to The Handmaid's Tale show. So we've been working through that. But we also started Mid-Century Modern, that's a fun show. And there's an episode of Abbott Elementary to catch up on. We also watch Hacks and The Last of Us. So there's a LOT.

...I wrote sketch comedy, wrote and performed stand-up, wrote a couple of plays, wrote a little 'zine, and a short film. I also ran an amateur theatre company for a year when I was 17, where we produced 2 shows and that we took on a mini tour..." Barbecue sauce. Or in my case... Dark chocolate.

If he was curious why I said that and not "I want to be at the National." He would've said something like: "Have you made a lot of theatre, or done other performing arts, Jason?"

As I think about this now, I'm reminded of that scene from Ted Lasso: "But then one day I was driving my little boy to school and I saw a quote by Walt Whitman, it was painted on the wall and it said, ‘Be curious, not judgmental.’ I like that. (Note: it's a misattribution).
