I have more than once bought a fantasy novel because of the map(s). I've also bought books of fantasy maps (including The Writer's Map) and collections of fantasy maps, such as the maps for the Game of Thrones series, drawn by Jonathan Roberts.

I get by on blue eyes and very light skin(think Celt meets Norse). I got "randomly" selected every time for a few years after 9/11, though, because of my beard. Now that the beard is totally white, I look really old, and I think that helps, too.
