We haven’t started yet. We rewatched the last episode of the first season, and I was given a pretty harsh reminder of how horrible my retention has become.

This is disappointing, though not unexpected (the Sasaki news, not you returning).

I see this in many of my students. They aren’t able to recognize the difference between being an individual and being selfish.

I was doing PD recently and the keynote speaker talked about how the real training we needed to be doing was teaching kids how to write great prompts for AI as a way of becoming irreplaceable in the workforce. It’s definitely why I became an English teacher.

Was it Christmas Day or the day after that the Millwood signing was announced all those years ago? There’s also a likely possibility I’m misremembering quite a bit.

Geez, these new states are probably going to DEMAND that everyone gets FREE healthcare. Pretty presumptuous of them. Don’t they know how things work down here?!

Whenever I’m asked to put Christmas music on, I reach for Hiss Golden Messenger’s “Hung Fire.” A fantastic song. Generally not the vibe my wife intended.

I’ve asked my students what they intend to do with all of the free time they’re trying to create for themselves, because they certainly don’t do much with the free time they currently have.

Excellent stuff. Congrats. (A minor segment, but was completely unprepared for the anecdote about the subject of Questlove’s playlist at the end.)

My wife: Do we have to watch “The Last Waltz” later, or are we watching something else?
Me: …do we “have to”?
She: Well, you know…
Me: We “get to” watch it later.

Interesting…but not in the way a person would want; I mostly attribute that kind of inconsiderate behavior to the youths.

A lot of bleed in rural counties. Margins will have to be huge in other places. And it just isn’t there yet, seemingly.

My son initially referred to the movie as, “The movie with the ham.” We latch onto what we latch onto.
