Tax the wealthy. It’s very simple. Yet, no politician has the guts to do it.

"It makes no sense for Starmer to pretend he would die in a ditch over Brexit – the sooner he abandons it the better" yorkshirebylines.co.uk/news/brexit/...

In other news the OBR report the government keeps quoting from says Brexit is on course to cut UK trade by a staggering 15% - a huge reduction in the potential economic performance of the country at a time when every penny counts www.politics.co.uk/news/2025/01...

Time for Starmer to grow some balls.

They put a toddler in the White House.

Farage insisting that he has an inside track to Trump while also not getting invited to the swearing in is bang on brand. As, sadly, is the fact that his dishonesty & humiliation will be ignored by much of the media.

🚨112 #NHS emergency units have closed since 2010, including 24 A&E departments. Nursing staff and services are stretched to breaking point. You can see the list of all the services we've lost here: tinyurl.com/4bknvkp3

“Americans are being buried under an avalanche of misinformation enabling the abuse of power. The free press is crumbling. Editors are disappearing. Social media is giving up on fact-checking. The truth is smothered by lies told for power and profit” President Joe Biden

'How's that on a scale of medieval misogyny?' Ian Hislop tells Andrew Marr that Elon Musk is 'riddled with contradictions'.

I mean, that's outstanding.

This is an astonishingly ill-informed and amoral assessment for the political editor of the BBC to have reached, about someone spreading extremist conspiracy theories and using them to whip up hatred against elected politicians. I'd say I'm surprised, but sadly I'm not.

NEW: Starmer comes out strongly in defence of Jess Philipps and against Elon Musk who he suggests is "far right". . He says those who are spreading "misinformation" and "lies" about Phillips and child sexual abuse "are not interested in victims, they are interested in themselves."

Keir Starmer just announced "a new agreement that will expand the relationship between the NHS and the private healthcare sector" NO NO NO Privatisation is BAD news for patients: 🤑£10 million a week wasted on private profits 🤑NHS Trusts still being ripped off by PFI deals

The private sector don’t do better care. They do better carpets, they do free parking, they do easy, picking-off care, they do staff poaching, they do union-undercutting. They do leaving the NHS to train the staff, mop up the emergencies, and crumble under the impact. For shame.

All that far right gibberish about asylum seekers being an "invasion", and then their hero calls for an *actual* invasion. I rarely use this word, but Brits sucking up to this guy are frankly traitorous.

Don't let Elon Musk make Nigel Farage look moderate by comparison. Both are trading off the exact same politics of hate. The only difference between them is that while Farage judged it would be bad for his career to associate with a criminal thug like Tommy Robinson, Musk is too far gone to care

Here's Farage on #LauraKuenssberg calling Musk "a hero" whose endorsement made his party "look cool." Less than 3 hours later, Musk said he should be replaced.

The most fucking hilarious tweet of the year. Bookmark it because it may not be topped in the next 360 days.

How hard would it have been for BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg to bring up this front page when Nigel Farage complained during his interview with her today that economically “we are getting poorer”

Nick Candy billionaire "investor" in Reform Party....at Tory #SexistShaun Bailey's PARTYGATE party (now a Tory Lord obviously 🙄) Same old people Same old sh*te

#WolffBites: Turning the UK's largest public water system over to private capitalism yields overcharging, corruption, and using anti-pollution funds instead for share-holder dividends and executives' salaries. Capitalism pollutes. www.theguardian.com/business/202...

The power structures within society are all wrong www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2024/12... How can a vicar talk about the merits for the donor of giving to charities addressing the consequences of poverty and never ask why people might be poor. Hasn’t she really missed the whole point of Christianity?

I'm a fan of the Observer and will be sorry to see it go. bylinetimes.com/2024/12/21/d...

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage again calling for the UK to leave the ECHR Why is UK media struggling to get across the points I make in this film? How hard can this be?

No doubt some of you will find this distressing. But think for a second of the distress millions of Turkeys experience each year. Over 8 million tortured and slaughtered for one meal. Our actions have consequences. Choose what you chew more wisely... 👇 dalevince.com/2024/12/20/c...

Morning Bluesky. It’s clear that the agenda of the world’s richest man is now the Far Right takeover of the entire Western world. His latest statement: “Only the AfD can save Germany.” People who continue to post on his global propaganda channel are complicit.

Richard Tice, whose Reform Party may be about to be funded by Elon Musk, condemning interference in British politics by foreign billionaires

This piece from @hardeepmatharu.bsky.social very much worth a read. @bylinetimes.bsky.social

Nigel Farage continues to spout his boll**** unchallenged the UK must leave the ECHR If we want to avoid a dangerous chain of events which could one day see Britain joining Russia & Belarus as the only European countries outside the ECHR we need to constantly call him out

Fairness Foundation @fairness.bsky.social are doing tremendous work in tackling inequality in the UK and are now on BlueSky. Do give them a follow
