This is an absolutely FANTASTIC analysis and explanation of how indirect costs are used, the fact that even at current rates universities have to subsidize research, why they do it (prestige, mainly), and the consequences of cutting IC to 15%. EVERYONE should read this!

The lumps on this #leaf are #domatia, cavities that house (usually) #mites. The mites prey on harmful mites or clear fungi. Domatia may be induced by the mites or are part of the plant's development. I think these are the latter. Plant species unknown, from Peru.
