What I was able to stomach of it basically gave me the impression that they wanted to return to the America of the 1950s. There's a good chance they'd get it. Too bad the rest of the world would be in the 21st century.

I wouldn't do that (because, among other things, it would be nearly impossible). But certainly know your suppliers and buy products from blue states.

The only thing that can affect Trump is impeachment and conviction, and it's pretty clear that nothing, INCLUDING treason, will make the Republilcans take that step.

Given that they find "DEI" programs by basically doing CTRL-F searches for "diversity" (so researching biodiversity in forest habitats is DEI, and a lot of financial programs are going to be under attack), a simple renaming is going to go a long way...

Voters in red states have been brainwashed into thinking the blue states are sucking up their hard-earned tax dollars. So if the blue states wanted to secede, red state voters wouldn't lift a finger to stop us (and they certainly wouldn't fight a war to keep us).

We're the largest producer of natural gas in the world, so it's a pretty safe bet that the propane being dispensed isn't actually coming from Canada. BUT because of the tariffs, domestic producers can AND WILL raise prices to be just under the cost of imported gas.

Republican voters knew EXACTLY what they were voting for. They just think it won't hurt them.

Now is a good time to re-evaluate your choices and make a virtue out of...honestly, what we should have been doing for a long time: Giving up bourbon? Check. Giving up Amazon? Double check. Shop local? Triple check.

New York (also blue) is a major wine producer as well...

Earlier the Canadians were working on "targeted tariffs": American wine is primarily produced in blue states (CA, NY, and WA). Whiskey and distilled spirits, on the other hand, are red state products (TN, KY). Hit'em where it hurts.

I have a darker view: If they crater the economy, billionaires can buy everything at fire sale prices.

Us too.

We increased our spending in December in anticipation of Trump tariffs. So that's a few major purchases that aren't going to happen for several years.

If it happens, let's hope "Meal Team Six"ers are the first called up.

State and local authorities that enforce immigation law are essentially doing the federal government's job for free. That alone is reason enough to say "Nope, not gonna do it."

I'm on a Facebook break in protest of Zuck, and I was thinking the same thing: I get a lot more done when I'm not on FB.

Context, mostly. They almost never had a "pure" math problem: if you determined the canal was 1,30 feet wide, 90 made sense but 1.5 (or 5400) did not.
