What we are all experiencing is called "resilience targeting." It is a deliberate attack favored by many of todays shitlords, and is a fairly well known theory in disinfo and climate circles; it's just that everyone seems to be in denial that it's an attack. Today might be a good day to read up

One thing Democratic leadership could do right now is to name an alternate HHS secretary--someone to provide ongoing public updates and health information. And do it for other departments too. Start showing voters what a Democratic government would look like--press conferences, speeches, all of it.

If your boss or company tells you to do something unethical: don't say yes. Make them write it down.

As someone who had to deal with an employer insisting on accommodation negotiations over the phone, the move is documentation via email. “Hi, Karen, I just wanted to confirm the conversation we had via phone this afternoon. You asked me to [x activity] despite my doctor advising [y]. Is that right?”

Elon Musk is committing a lot of felonies. He belongs in jail, and so do his criminal associates. He may not comprehend that. And if and when he does it may make him more reckless. No assumptions about where we go from here.

Starting to think the tariff shitstorm was timed to serve as cover for Musk's Treasury coup

Elon Musk is a terrible president.

Trump is so predictable: Step 1 — Create artificial crisis. Step 2 — Make phone call. Step 3 — Announce end of crisis. Step 4 — Declare victory.

Exactly

feels like a lot of us are Cassandra, except instead of the gift of prophecy we've been given the gift of being able to see the obvious fucking things that the god damn asshole said he was gonna do

Dean told us yesterday that, in the event of an immigration raid at the college, we should know that ICE can't enter classrooms. Also, FERPA applies to ICE agents, too, so don't answer their questions about students. When I tell you what I thought my job would be 22 years ago...lord have mercy.

Tips to keep democracy alive in 2025: 1. Be Brave. Avoid helpless/hopeless talk. Authoritarians want you to feel powerless because it makes their work easier. Courage, faith, and optimism are essential. Fascism feeds on cynicism and pessimism. Starve it. www.theframelab.org/how-to-thriv...

New Orleans has always understood something essential about American culture: that joy is not just an emotion but an act of resistance, that celebration is not mere frivolity but a way of claiming space in the world. 🧵

Thank you, Brecht De Poortere, for compiling this poetry mag ranking! Much gratitude to you 🙏

Also, courage is contagious. I continue to stand against American fascism in the hope that others will take heart, too.

Important thread re: maintaining hope, even when we don't think it's rational. The future is unpredictable and contains openings for action.

President Elon is so precisely what the Framers were worried about that it feels like a hypothetical even though it's real life

Thank you, Jennifer Schulze, for these great news resources!

A friend described the current Democratic response to the political moment “bringing a strongly worded letter to a knife fight” and I can tell that’s one of those phrases that’s going to be sticking

Amazing literary starter packs and lists! Thank you Janis La Couvée for compiling and sharing these resources 🙏

Regimes seem solid until they are not. Every resistance act matters because often regimes are crumbling from within from corruption and yet good at hiding that fact. cc: Russia
