My son was offended by the notion that I expected him to believe in a fantastical being. When he was seven or so, he said, “I don’t want a dollar from a ‘tooth fairy’ and if someone from the Flat Earth Society tried to give me a dollar I wouldn’t take that either.”

Exactly--I don't think he has the cognitive ability to realize that Elon has taken over. Think about how quickly he fired people in his first administration, particularly when anyone outshined him. This is even more dangerous, because the bad people he hires can each use him to their own ends.

And how could you not love the novel THE HORSE, by Willy Vlautin, published by @harpercollins.bsky.social about an itinerant guitarist, struggling with alcoholism and trying to dry out at a Nevada mining claim, when he discovers a horse in worse shape than himself and determines to save it.

I was so impressed with the skilled writing and zany characters in Alexander Sammartino's debut novel LAST ACTS, published by @scribnerbooks.bsky.social.

How is this for Denver cred: my first job was at Blockbuster video on Hampden when I was 17. That’s where I personally printed and laminated the Blockbuster membership card of a certain Attorney Frank Azar.

I’m sorry! In some ways we think things are worse…but in other ways our kids are enjoying much gentler childhoods.

This makes sense—I was bused to majority Black and Latino schools in Denver growing up…and yeah, I’m definitely more lefty than non-bused family members. I am so thankful for that experience.

As an ND grad, I'm hoping he just meant this literally--like, you can see Touchdown Jesus on the library from the field, and it looks like he's looking over your shoulder. But probably not!
