Comfort curl. A polychaete worm from a nice evening out on the dock with @noncompliantcyborg.bsky.social #invertebrates

Perfection from @invertebabe.bsky.social

Swima bombiviridis—because sometimes, the best way to escape oppression is to drop a glowing distraction and peace out. These deep-sea worms eject bioluminescent “bombs” to confuse predators while they make a clean getaway. Resistance, but make it ✨dramatic✨. 🌊🪱 #WormWednesday #DeepSea #Marinelife

Sometimes I have a hard time remembering the scientific names of things. I always think of this tunicate as the Chloë Sevigny (Ciona savignyi).

Beautiful work by @kellybrenner.bsky.social !

Another beautiful work of art from @noncompliantcyborg.bsky.social

Love letter from the Salish Sea- this moonglow anemone had hearts on their tentacles. #invertebrates

WA Folks! Please share. ALT text now included (apologies!)

WA Folks! Show up if you can.

Much to my delight, I read that the Northern Horse Mussel is referred to as the “clappy-doo” mussel in some parts of the world. It also has a fun to say scientific name, Modiolus modiolus.

In these tough times remember a Pom Pom Crab is out there cheering for you.

Strike a pose.

Hi marine science lovers! It's almost Valentine's Day which means it's time to make #ValenCtenes & #InvertValentines! If you make some, I want to see them! Here's a few of mine you can save & send to your Valenctene. If you'd like to leave me a tip, here's my ko-fi: ko-fi.com/noncompliant... 🦑🐙🐡

Urchin portal. Where do you want to go?

Ok #photographer friends-my laptop died and I need a new one. MacBook Air or Pro for editing photos? Go!

The red-eyed medusa, Polyorchis pencillatus, depends on the health of our nearshore eelgrass habitats. When eelgrass habitat declines, so does the population of these beautiful jellies. #invertebrates

Good advice

We strongly urge you not to resign and recommend seeking legal counsel!

I wish I had the body flexibility of a giant /rainbow nudibranch! Have you ever watched them swim? They have some serious moves💓Dendronotus iris , spotted off the dock on Vashon Island last week.
