EVs aren't supposed to be a jump in technology like a car replacing a horse. They are supposed to be basically the same thing just using an alternative fuel that doesn't produce greenhouse gases when you use it.

This wasn't signing a deal with some fly by night startup with a new product. This was signing a deal with PayPal. It's understandable why YouTubers didn't think to dig into whether or not they were signing a deal with a company that would be committing some downright shadiness on all fronts.

Range is largely not an issue with the long range models outside of road trips which typically are set up in a way that you have multiple options for charging. Day to day driving is a breeze and dirt cheap if you can change at home.

What's more interesting to think about is the amount of AI generated content that will then be fed back into these AI answers over time. AI hallucinations could become "fact" pretty quickly if people trust those responses wholesale
