So yeah, someone makes a hit film once. Under the best circumstances, they make a lot of money. What happens in 2 year? 5 years? 10 years? I have my stable $50k. In entertainment, you just get your $[X] million once.

The best example is if I worked for a year for....$50k, and someone else worked on a movie with a contract for another for $50k. We'd both end up the same amount of money, but the person working on the movie has no guarantee of employment. Possibly for years

There is a very firmly held belief that anyone involved in entertainment is rich and connected, and often that they started out that way. The idea of there being a blue collar Hollywood - especially in the above the line class - is absolutely fucking alien to most people.

Oh, she made an extremely good film in the 90's, does that mean it made her 30 years of money? People do not understand arts. And sports.

Water and sewer are both fairly complicated, and while I know people who have managed this, they are not the general Libertarian who wants a nice house, but no taxes.

Honestly, Libertarianism has never stood up for me, because my first question is always, "Do you know how a sewer system works?" (That's the civic understanding part, granted)

You can punch fascists on your own time, but please don't do it with police present and possibly 5,000 innocent bystanders.

.....Why does this person actively want to pick fights with counter protesters? That's not a conversation, that's multiple head wounds.

Yep. I grew up under the shadow of George W. Bush, but fuck me if I can't say defending immigrants and disdaining total Executive control isn't patriotic.

Outlets will do anything but point out Christian Nationalism (or Extremism) is a problem.

How to explain...."Wine Moms" are also less likely to be immediately harassed by the police, and make bad optics when they are. You kind of want their support.

He was told. Repeatedly. Since 2016. That this was a bad idea. Absolutely no one to blame but himself. (The military might hate him even more now).

On the gripping hand, this reference is still very funny and has been running through my head all day.

On the one hand, they then proceed to put Scar in power. On the OTHER hand: After that they eat him.

I think any proof of community engagement helps, even if you're not like..renting out their 3D printer!

One of mine has an entire heirloom seed bank, and does regular "prom shopping" events where teens can get donated prom clothes for free. Libraries rule, fund them and they do awesome stuff.

I do hope the cat pictures help.

There seems to be some coverage now, but it's mostly Fox News. As you saw, there's *nobody* there. And more important things have been happening

I feel that way about power in California, and it isn't even that bad (biggest problem is PG&E keeps starting fires).
