1984 is a decent book but definitely not in my top 10.
There are books that speak much better to the moral & cultural confusion of our current era in my opinion, such as Dostoevsky’s works.
I disagree with but respect Orwell, and have read his other works including “The Road to Wigan Pier.”

Sinclair was literally a communist, a party member of the ideology that killed more people than any other in the 20th century. I think we’ll collectively pass, thanks. (I’ve read the book before btw)

If you don’t quickly report big breaking news items like that, your account will never blow up and eventually no one will follow you.

While we’re both anon accounts arguing online, I’ll let you in on a little secret-I can practically guarantee you that I’ve helped out more poor/unfortunate people in my life than all of the people responding to my comments combined.
Actions matter yes, and intentions and beliefs matter as well.

Name one person who died as a direct result of Brian Thompson’s decisions. I’ll wait.

Celebrating murder of an innocent man with a family is always evil. Comparing this to the end of WW2 even for a moment makes you lose all credibility, btw.

I’m well aware, and you’re the problem.

I was the most outspoken opponent by far of Trump out of anyone in my friends, family, or professional circle.

I’ll understand cheering for the murder of an innocent man with a family in broad daylight?
If you’re right, I genuinely hope I don’t reach my 50’s at all then. Sounds like a miserable existence, choked by resentment, bitterness, and hatred towards the world.

That mindset is precisely why the world is becoming a more hateful and ugly place every year since I’ve been alive.

Eh? Wait this is a weird take-he was walking in the street and got shot, what do his lifestyle choices have to do with it? Am I missing something?

“This guy was a heartless POS, let’s show him by being heartless POS’s ourselves. That’ll show em.”
You people are dense.

Anyone celebrating or making light of this man’s death is in fact, a bad person. There’s no gray area around that either.
