Research labs or teams provide the setting for group-level creativity, either encouraging (or not) the individual creativity of team members. Creativity is the connection of known components leading to something novel and useful within a given domain. 📑 journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol...

#Hartaberfair. CDU Amthor. Korinthenkackerei. Probleme anpacken, liebe Politik.

The notion that the best papers are the most cited papers was always questionable. The most citable, and therefore publishable, papers are mundane, ‘water is wet’ papers. What was once the most cited paper of all is about cleaning test tubes. 📑 blogs.lse.ac.uk/impactofsoci...

The @wbgu.bsky.social speaks of “regional water emergencies” and their effects as threatening situations in which the limits of controllability are exceeded, social structures and ecosystems are substantially destabilized, and the scope for action no longer exists. 📑 doi.org/10.1021/acse...

While there is no widespread lack of trust in scientists, we cannot discount the concern that lack of trust in scientists by even a small minority may affect considerations of scientific evidence in policymaking. 📑 doi.org/10.1038/s415...
