Every executive order, every policy change, every illegal act (whether definitely or even just possibly unlawful) by the Musk administration should be met with a lawsuit, in any and every appropriate jurisdiction. Bury them in FOIA requests, injunctions, restraining orders, and discovery demands

Q: What does Trump like to have with his Big Macs? A: Traitor Tots

Stop with this “mandate” shit. Trump received fewer than half of all votes. A bare plurality, NOT a mandate for anything.

@gtconway.bsky.social Hi George - Neither Judicial nor Legislative branches have any way to enforce laws and/or legal decisions - that power is held solely by the Executive. When faced with an Executive that chooses instead to ignore the law, and govern by fiat, what viable options do we have?

@jillwine-banks.bsky.social Hi Jill - a question for you and your #SistersInLaw colleagues Judicial/Legislative branches can't enforce laws or legal decisions - that power is held by the Executive alone. Faced with an Executive that opts to ignore the law, and governs by fiat, what options exist?

@preetbharara.bsky.social Hi Preet - Neither Judicial nor Legislative branches have any way to enforce laws and/or legal decisions - that power is held solely by the Executive. When faced with an Executive that chooses instead to ignore the law, and govern by fiat, what viable options do we have?

Dear DNC, DSCC, and DCCC: I don't want to see another fundraising text or email asking for a dollar of mine until I see an actual plan to meet this moment. Y'all had 11 weeks between the election and inauguration, and there's still no plan. There's no excuse for that. No plan, no donation.

@aoc.bsky.social I greatly appreciate the rhetoric - it helps - but what practical solutions do you suggest? I’m sincerely asking - what can you, Congress, or we, do when the levers of power are nearly all in the hands of people with bad intent?

Rest in peace, Marianne Faithfull.

Your occasional reminder that the former Faux Never-Trumper Bret Stephens is a horrible human being

this is one of the sillier sentences I’ve seen in the New York Times in wuite a while “Hotels and restaurants are using A.I. and data analytics to make service more personal.”

People are sharing all kinds of vile things about Mark Zukerberg on Facebook, alleging sex crimes and lots else, and there are no fact checkers to correct it. No one seems interested in writing a Community Note either. Oh well.

We are supposed to have Real ID in order to board an airplane. It is, in effect, an internal passport. Here in #NewJersey the Motor Vehicle Commission issues these IDs - but you need an appointment to get one. Every MVC office within 50 miles shows “No appointments available.” What the actual F‽‽‽

As one of his final acts as President, Joe Biden should appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Matt Gaetz' gun ownership while he was also a user of illegal drugs #IYKYK

Raising the Social Security retirement age to 70 got a vote in the US Senate last night. It has *3* supporters: Rand Paul, Mike Lee and Cynthia Lummis. 93 voted no.

What i saw out my window this morning

I was thinking that MAGA voters might finally abandon the faith when they have to take in Oma and Opa, after Elon and Vivek eliminate Medicaid and they can’t afford the nursing home anymore. But no, probably not. They’ll just blame it on “The Jews” and “The Gays” and “Libtards”

isn’t it remarkable how liberal punditry, after a 100 day paean to the perfection of the Harris campaign, are now falling all over themselves in a rush to tell us, in excruciating detail, how royally fucked up and incompetent Democrats are.

@democracydocket.com I understand that a subscription helps pay for the website, but how are the legal cases themselves funded? (lawsuits can be expensive!) and who are the attorneys who are actually taking on these cases? How can we support the legal efforts (rather than just documenting them)?

Garland’s AG tenure hasn’t been stellar. The Trump-stacked SCOTUS would have stonewalled no matter when action against Trump was undertaken But if we could go back to 2021 I’d want Larry Krasner as Biden’s AG - progressive & aggressive enough to have taken on all the things Garland shied away from

lots of “excitement” over Bitcoin breaking $100K, and no doubt lots of people slapping themselves on the back - but it’s still imaginary, valueless, crap that’s not useful for anything.
