Perhaps "Monkey Around" as in a round of money wrenches. 🙈

Not so hard! The fabric doesn't unravel at all

EPP - I like playing with glue 😁

Michael's sells fabric now at some stores. You get it cut from the bolt at the framing counter.

I love a layer cake. I usually make big HSTs and arrange them in my design wall in a way that speaks to me. Simple and quick.

Ditto that question. Enquiring minds want to know 😉

This is my favorite visual today, I love it!

Nice frankenbatting! Those are some truly small scraps. Of course, the quilt is lovely, too 🙂

You did that on your regular home machine, not a long arm? Wow!

Gotta love #catsonquilts! I'd love to see that whole quilt.

I like sashing without cornerstones personally. It sets the bear paws on their own in a field of white and gives each the space to breathe. But your choice will be right for YOU! Have fun.

I saw this yesterday and was bummed for you. Then it happened to me today and I was double bummed 😂

The CLOSED and attached pins, of course. Safety first, Mittens.

I find my quilt guild here - maybe you will, too! Quilt Guilds and Quilt Shows - search.app/mWWa9p5ofxS5...

Improv EPP? Vwuh? How do you decide what shapes to cut?

Oooo, love it. I've been interested in taking Big Botany. You loved it? Any advice for me before I find a class?

I have my stash organized that way, too! Totally worth the time.

Which pattern are you using?

Actually, I just bought option #3, one that attaches to the lip of my cutting table and hangs down the side. It holds the rulers in a U shaped holder and has a cup attached for my rotary cutter!

I say booooooo to frogging. I prefer to make things work to my advantage 🙂 It's such a pretty WIP, love the purple and yellow combo.

I'd be afraid it would wear out too quickly, as thin as it is. Unless it's for a table topper or wall hanging that won't take much abuse.

Basically, I save scraps in the largest dimensions possible while adhering to the guidelines.
comment in response to
post
I keep the 2.5" sqs and the 2.5" rectangles together because they fit well, sharing a dimension. The 5s and 10s are separate. I don't love that, but the totes aren't large enough to put them together. Oh, I also save full strips of 2.5" by WOF when I can.

When I make a quilt for someone in particular, I embroider a label with their name, mine, and the year. If it is for charity or doesn't have a home yet, I don't.

Hi, Kate, loved your book blocks from IG. Good to see you here.

That was my question, also. It's hard to tell close up, but I like them close up.

I trim mine periodically into shapes I use most frequently:
10" sq
5" sq
2.5" sq
2.5x6.5" rectangles
Then I sort them by color and store in a clear tote box so I can see them and be inspired.

Is there a pattern? I'd love a link!

I use that same configuration! And then on my left thumb I do a finger cot so I don't stab my cuticle, haha

It's a national organization in the US that gathers blankets of all kinds, including quilts, for kids who need them - foster care, hospitals, social services, etc.

Are the blue shapes in the first picture super fitted covers for your machine and table? That's awesome! Did you design them yourself?
comment in response to

They're the perfect portable project until you have to connect them all, then it's huge! But I dread the thought of appliquing them to squares and doing it that way. Hmpf. 🤔

Grace True Cut. It's economic. Love it. There are rulers that go with it. You don't need them. Regular rulers are just fine.
