I am "The Bad Catholic Boy". I respectfully suggest you remove the logs from your own eye before addressing the tiny splinters in those of others. A Catholic convert, you will understand what I mean. My faith teaches me ALL people are equal and we show compassion and dignity to ALL our neighbours.

Unfortunately, U.K. will suffer heavy collateral fall out from this. This just fuels the flames in a dangerous world.. However I feel desperately sorry for the millions of American people who will suffer massively from all this - even if they did not understand what they were voting for.

Whilst this is sad and obviously a set back for Gary, I believe the bigger losers are society and those of us who will be deprived of his excellent presenting skills going forward. I hope he will still continue to have a platform to air his very virtuous views and mostly he speaks for me too.

I agree with most of your post and it was indeed a serious error. But, it was patently obvious that this was a genuine mistake by Gary. The world is a poorer place when someone cannot make an error and express genuine remorse and not be forgiven. Very sad allround.

Did you go to a dinner party in the lodge? We loved the place. Even the year when it was -20C!!! Now that was a challenge. I don''t think any of us undressed even to go to bed. Getting buckets of water our of the stream to flush the loos and breaking the ice before using them!

Agree with the first half, but not the second. Who decides who is of sound mind to make these decisions. There are people suffering and of sound mind and would choose to die,but how many Dr Shipmans would there be that would go undetected encouraging patients to agree to assisted dying?

Never happier than when at Kinloch Hourn, Spent many happy weeks holidaying there for 30 years. Long to return. Last went in 2017. Had a liver transplant in Jan this year (2025). One goal I set myself to distract my mind from the op whilst waiting for it was to climb Sgurr na Sceine from Lochside.

That photo brings back fond memories. Been over the Bealach na Ba a few times when staying at Applecross. Never happier than when holidaying in that part of the world. Interesting pass to traverse when its a wee bitty blowey and there's a touch of froct and snow. Much more and its impassable!!

Hi, for those who do not know, I am now feeling better than I have for at least 8 years, after a liver transplant on 17th Jan this year (2025). Diagnosed with liver disease in August 2018, I was extremely ill from Oct 22 onwards and this explains why I lost touch with many of you. Apologies to all.
