"Most teams can win a trophy" is obviously just not true. In the 10 years prior to last season only 7 English teams won a trophy of any description (including league cups and West Ham's Conference League win).
So if most teams can win a trophy, the question is... why are they choosing not to?

I'm thinking about how many of them would be getting shot by Republican 2nd Amendment obsessives and how Fox News would be enthusiastically defending those shootings.
There's a gaping chasm running right down the centre of US society, and I suspect it can no longer be bridged.

The fine is one thing. But hopefully the club is taking steps to identify those who were chanting and making sure they never step foot inside the stadium again.
I doubt we'll ever completely eradicate bigotry from football. Doesn't mean we can't give it a good try though.

Thing is (another old man here) I'd argue that Hoddle left a season too early -- he was still an incredible player when he left and the team absolutely missed him for a good while. I'd argue the same for Son. He has another season at the top level (just in my view) and we'd be mad to let him go now.

Yes. But if your entire identity and the reality you desperately wish to inhabit are constructed on a foundation of rightwing conspiracy theories, then websites that, at the very least, occasionally challenge those theories will be terribly upsetting to you.

No, that's the correct point of view alright 😎

That's one way of looking at it.
Another way would be that my interpretation is the objectively correct one and you're a fool and a communist if you disagree.

We had one of the worst injury crises in league history. Otherwise I'm confident we'd have won the EL and finished top half, maybe top 6.
I doubt we had the squad (even if fit) to get top 4 and win in Europe, but the injuries were *clearly* the root of our poor league form. Ange wasn't "found out".

I'll be fully behind Thomas Frank by the first kick of the ball of pre-season, but right now I'm still demoralised by the Ange dismissal. More than demoralised in fact... I'm seething.
I was never part of the "Levy Out" mob, but I'll be honest, it's tough not to be right now.

I've read it a few times since then and each time the prose just carries me along. Less like something I'm reading, more like something transporting me (Burroughs and Pynchon do the same thing).
There's a deep beauty in it that few other books can match, even when it deals with ugliness.

"The snotgreen sea. The scrotumtightening sea."
I'm only being slightly facetious when I say no book containing those words within the first two pages can be called overrated.
I made several attempts to read Ulysses in my teens and then sometime in my early 20s it clicked with me.

I think it's just as likely to be a troll as a real account.
Blocked either way.

I cringe to think back to the 90s and recall how evangelical I was about the internet. It was going to be a global library that would lift humanity out of poverty and oppression.
OK, so there was a lot of acid involved, but there really was a moment when it felt like a revolutionary force for good.

1955... Frank only has 5 years to wait before the real glory years for Tottenham.
It feels far more distant for us modern Spurs fans (not that I'm complaining so soon after the Europa League win).

We should boycott brands, including media organisations, that use those platforms and make it clear we won't vote for any politician with an active account.

He lived a life of intense highs and deep lows. But the music he created made the world a better place. He was one of our great artists and should be remembered as such.
So farewell, and rest easy Brian. There'll never be another like you.

I understood exactly what he meant. There was something almost supernatural about the music we heard that night. Brian had assembled a band that somehow replicated the gorgeous complexity and, at times, exquisite simplicity of the recordings. There are no words to explain how beautiful it was.

That's because the cops pick and choose which protests they deal with. If you raise a "Just Stop Oil" banner, you'll be in the back of a Garda van within minutes. If you're a racist thug with an Ireland Is Full banner, you get a pass.
Which may well tell us something about the police, who's to say?

I start every season assuming Spurs are going to win the treble / quadruple. This usually gets modified a couple of months in...

I assume so. It definitely feels like that alright. Although the track listing for the new album doesn't include a song with that title, so we may not find out for sure.

His last tour was in the Top 5... maybe Top 3... gigs I've ever been to.
So even though it's almost 10 months away, I'm already getting excited!

I watched the first two episodes (primarily because I love David Thewlis and wanted to see how he'd play Holmes). I thought he did a good job, and there's a lot to like about it. But it also didn't *quite* grab me as much as I'd hoped. So I'm teetering on the edge of watching more. Not sure yet.

I honestly don't understand the board's decision. Don't get me wrong, I know the argument; Spurs YouTube has been pushing it relentlessly; I just think it's a load of bs.
Obviously I hope I'm wrong, but I think Thomas Frank is a massive step backwards. But again, hopefully he proves me wrong.
