Loved that series! I think I may have a book club multi-title edition of that around here somewhere. I need to read it again.

Lol. European electro swing bands was my big stretch!

Sort of. I still listen to a ton of punk/post punk/80s alternative (actual alternative) but that evolved to 90s electronica then jungle/drum n bass then trance/big beat without ever stopping listening to all that came before.

Son is providing double coverage on Salah so I give him credit there, but Bentancur needs to be the glue in the midfield and has been absolutely horrible instead.

I'm in. Been using a VPN and cookie blockers...the basics...but these days I'm considering going further. Much further. Feels like dark days are just around the corner.

VPNs are great, but only part of the picture. If you need to browse things privately, use Tor.

That hope is what kept me watching. Gems are in there...much like with the Spurs.

Connie Willis books, novellas and short stories are always entertaining and thought provoking!

Yes. Definitely a drop off. It's why I had such a hard time staying with the show near the end of the original run. From the writing to the directing (and sometimes the acting) it was often cringe-worthy.

If I'm not saying one, I'm saying the other.

I recognize a lot of those but listen to very few them. There are usually a lot more groups my speed at Lallapalooza and Riot Fest in Chicago.

Okay, that makes a lot of sense out of the "they played advantage so they can't go back on the foul" comments I've been seeing. I had seen it done before but once was Europa League and the other time would definitely qualify as cynical. I think Bergvall's was simply dumb, not cynical.

Of course if Bergvall won't stop with those late challenges he's going to see a lot more yellows (and reds).

Probably unless he has a real return to form before the end of 2025.

Great soccer in the NWSL. We try to get to Chicago for a Stars match a few times a season.

I make tamales for NYD in our house. We also have traditional breakfasts for major holidays as well.

I genuinely hope that proves to be the case. These kind of games are more painful than being on the wrong end of a goal fest.

Ange has got to find a way to beat teams who score an early goal and then park the bus. Our defense was...not horrible, but our attack was pitiful.

Fulham proved to be the better watch...late goals to beat the home side and deny them any points. Spurs with no ideas on how to get around the Forest bus.

True, if Werner wasn't so wasteful I would have him instead of Son right now.

Which substitute could break it open in the second half?

Would never want to lose your ratings themes! Now that the idea is there, I may have to take up the flag to see if our area is game. I'll do some research and pick a few matches to try it out before the season's over. #coys #michiana

Only one way to find out. I'm game if you are. My wife's more of a Fulham fan but humors mine and my daughter's Spurs obsession. The game is afoot!
comment in response to

Me too. The Grand Rapids group is not very big and I'm closer to South Bend myself. Might have to do some recon this winter.

Michiana Spurs would be awesome. You think we have enough stalwarts in the area to make it happen? I don't do sports bars very much but would be great to watch the Spurs with a crowd.

I'll definitely get this. Part of "The Injustice of Place" hits on the long term impact the dismantling of reconstruction after Lincoln's assassination had in the Cotton/Tobacco Belt. A huge opportunity lost.
