After watching Notre Dame vs Georgia, I was hoping Jalon Walker would be the guy for the Bears at pick #10 - I’m guessing he doesn’t last that long now?

Watched the aftermath from a window in Reavis Hall. Still day that’s haunts

I’ve never had a book in one of my English classes that students universally loved more than “Just Mercy” —- and students love Poet X too

Opening the season with Colson Montgomery at SS would be a mistake

Maybe I’m a masochist as an English teacher…but I feel grading essays with personal feedback is vital for students improving and students value the feedback so much. Also, often, the essays are enjoyable to read

I’ve never gotten a zero in a category before…but a few educated guesses in round 2 got me there

Teacher here! How about talking to those of us that 1) do the job every day and 2) actually believe in education?

Players you see teams reaching for because of positional need (WRs?) vs players you see sliding because what they do isn’t sexy (DTs?)

Has Jesse Rogers written another article supporting these idiots yet?

I will admit I mostly assess through Canvas as I do prefer digital grading with writing. But I teach through paper, do activities with paper, and assess M/C on scantrons and AP Classroom

Edgar Quero or Kyle Teel? I think Teel is better but I think they can coexist with the Sox in 2026 (maybe even late 2025)

I’m going to try this with my students next semester! Good topic for journaling

That’s another good point. I’d gladly further my education - both inside my profession and to expand my knowledge - if I could afford to

agreed: I think there are classes, while outside of one’s major when it comes to content, that would/could still beneficial. It can be tailored like you said

As a teacher myself, I agree completely. But colleges should reduce general education requirements (what high school gives students) and allow students to jump right into their majors as freshmen if they are already to declare - lower cost and help students graduate more efficiently and quickly
comment in response to post
That’s a shame because 1) I personally enjoy writing letters of recommendation for my students - they deserve them 2) if you know your students well you have an individual format for how to write them, they honestly don’t take long to write

I get why the MLBPA wanted some language with not allowing certain teams to consistently pick high in the draft, but after the worst year in MLB history, immediately dropping the White Sox to 10th is harsh. Will this be revisited to find a middle ground? Like outside of the top 5?

I’m happy with the return on Crochet. I feel like it’s getting harder and harder to pry impact bats/position players away from teams, so getting two top 100 guys I feel is a job well done by Getz. And I never saw mention of Aidan Miller being available from the Phillies…was he?
comment in response to post
I think Getz did a great job getting back this package of players. Love Teel and Montgomery

Bummed to see the White Sox trade elite talent, but it’s a great job by Getz getting seemingly an excellent return back. Love Teel and Montgomery

Boston makes the most sense to me. But one of Kyle Teel or Braden Montgomery needs to be in the deal

One of my favorites. The last few paragraphs of the book…loved the ending

Matt Shaw is probably off the table, so Owen Cassie would have to be in a Crochet deal for me

Only picking pitchers I’ve seen: Greg Maddux, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, and Max Scherzer
