CSPAN Caller from West Virginia: I’m a diabetic and I’m on Medicare. When Biden was in there, my insulin was $6 for a 28 day supply. I just went to CVS, it went back up to $80…

So if you criticize Elon Musk, Trump’s DOJ will send you this letter. Members of Congress must have the right to forcefully oppose the Trump Administration. I will not be silenced.

DOGE in practice: Disabled Army veteran who has 4 kids and did 3 tours overseas is fired from his job at Bronx VA hospital

hello cis friends this is what people mean by trans genocide if a type of person does not officially exist, then any harm against them cannot be measured or reported this headline change isn't even being caused by an executive order it's simply the NYT editors deciding we don't deserve to exist

This!

Bernie Sanders: "They will use the enormous media operations they own to deflect attention away from the impact of their policies while they entertain us to death."

Pictured: Rep. Andrew Clyde witnessing President Trump's "outside the box" thinking on January 6th.

Crockett: I am tired of the white tears. When you compare me to Marjorie Taylor Greene or me to Lauren Boebert, there is no comparison. So the only people that are crying are the mediocre white boys that have been beaten out by people that historically have had to work so, so much harder

What’s his beef against USAID in particu….oh. Wow.

In the past month attendance is down approx 5% in NYC public schools. There is anecdotal evidence that there are immigrant families who are keeping their kids home out of fear. How is this making us safer? healthier? stronger? The cruelty and chaos is the point.

NY Times, Oct. 8, 1933.

NAACP: "The President has made his decision to put politics over people abundantly clear as he uses the highest office in the land to sow hatred rooted in falsehoods instead of providing us with the leadership we need and deserve." www.reuters.com/world/us/was...

Buttigieg’s response to Trump vis Twitter, on multiple levels:

the first fatal commercial plane crash in 16 years happened just days after Trump froze hiring of air traffic controllers that were already stretched thin

Flood the zone. Electeds, activists, & leaders, don’t assume people know what’s going on. Tell them everywhere that: Trump & Republicans stopped Medicaid. Trump & Republicans stopped housing assistance. Trump & Republicans stopped schooling for children.

Trump just ripped away Medicaid from millions of Americans. This could get people killed.

HEY House GOP! I know you’re busy at a retreat in Trump-land plotting tax cuts for billionaires, but in case you hadn’t noticed, your Mad King is freezing funding YOUR POOREST CONSTITUENTS NEED TO SURVIVE. Get your heads out of the golf course sand traps and PROTECT THEM.

Trump: What happens if I throw this baby off of a roof? Me: It'll die. Trump: [throws baby] [THUD] Schumer: Trump cannot throw babies off of roofs. [THUD] SCOTUS: Trump cannot throw babies off of roofs. [THUD] Me: You guys, he's still throwing babies. [THUD] MAGA: He's such a strong leader! [THUD]

BREAKING: Illinois is currently shut out of Medicaid. Gov. JB Pritzker’s office reports that the Trump funding freeze has shut the state out of the federal health care program. Medicaid covers nearly 4 million people in Illinois. chicago.suntimes.com/politics/don...

A January 6 insurrectionist pardoned by Trump is now wanted for child sex solicitation. Andrew Taake, who pleaded guilty to attacking officers on J6, was already facing charges for soliciting sex from an undercover cop posing as a 15-year-old. Texas prosecutors are now seeking his arrest.

Matthew W. Huttle, who served time for his role in the Jan. 6 attack and was pardoned by Donald Trump, was shot and killed by a Jasper County sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop in Indiana following an altercation with the officer. Police say Huttle was armed and resisted arrest.

"[A] democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is Fascism—ownership of Government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power." - FDR (1938)

WELKER: Do you think Trump violated the law? LINDSEY GRAHAM: Well, technically, yeah

Trump cancels cancer research Trump policy hides emerging diseases from public Trump HHS shutdown wastes TK in taxpayer $ Trump HHS shutdown costs TK to local economies Trump holds emergency disaster aid to Americans hostage Trump arrests citizens&veteran w/proof of status Write these stories.

We’re on day 4 of the second Trump admin and have already reached “ICE arrests citizens in warrantless raid” www.newarknj.gov/news/mayor-r...

NIH appears to have canceled/postponed all of its study sections—the independent review panels that approve federal grants for health research. Such grants fund the work/salaries of 300k people at more than 2,500 institutions

Rep. Collin’s office told me this was a “figure of speech to show his disapproval of the Bishop’s speech.” When asked if Collins’ disapproval of speech was grounds for deportation they said “it was not to be taken literally.”

PAY ATTENTION! If OUR country was not in the process of moving forward, THEY wouldn’t be working so hard to take us back.

AOC: "We stand here just two days after President Trump gave unconditional pardons to violenct criminals who attacked the Capitol, and these are the people who want you to believe they're 'keeping criminals off the streets.'"

Buried in the flurry of Executive Orders last night is one that halts all funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Yes, the law that Republicans and Democrats came together to pass that fixes our roads, modernizes old bridges and makes drinking water safer.

Jacksonianism but with robber barons.

Been thinking about this cartoon. For no reason. Really. It's from 1889 -- during the Gilded Age.

um

History read this book and was like, “damn, I need to get my act together…”

“There will be neither lofty meditations, nor comprehensive foresight, nor magnanimous purpose, nor the look for the benisons of future ages, presiding at the helm of State.”-John Quincy Adams writing on the Jackson administration

I would love to see a bunch of musical artists and celebrities put on a nationally televised tribute concert for Pres. Jimmy Carter on inauguration day with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.

People can debate what Jimmy Carter's political legacy was. But his human legacy was an astoundingly positive one, worthy of deep admiration.

Thank you, President Carter for a life well-lived. You were always an example of the best of us. We’ll take it from here.

Not sure of the original source of this, but the depiction with the final domino set to crush the pusher is devastatingly accurate.

Since they vilify government all day every day, here’s a reminder of “50 ways government works for us”👇🏽🇺🇸 Government is not the enemy. It’s not about “Big Government”, it’s about good government. Elect people who believe in it, not the ones who seek to destroy it.

THREAD: Get ready for the first electoral fight of 2025. Virginia's special election on Jan. 7 will determine control of both the state House and Senate. Democrats hold razor-thin majorities in both chambers. If we lose one seat in either chamber, Dems lose the majority.

100 years ago Saturday the NYT ran a story that did not hold up well at all. www.nytimes.com/1924/12/21/a...

Democrats say it wouldn't have mattered if former president Obama had been born in Kenya. So why are they mad that the current president was born in South Africa?

Things are going great!
